The attitude on this board is a reflection of the Kyle Field crowd, and vice versa. Self-loathing, impatient and quick to give up.

You get that we were EMBARRASSED in both games against top teams

At NO POINT were we a threat to win those games

Then we were EMBARRASSED by a team that lost to SJSU at home and barely snuck away with a win

So what has this team done to earn patience and support?

NOTHING

And "being a Good Ag" who just keeps giving the AD their money and never demanding results in return is WHY we do less with more than anyone else in CFB

Get angry and demand results or accept eternal mediocrity

I'm pissed
everyone is pissed at our performance.

Getting angry and publicly being negative isn't going isn't going to do dick. We went out and bought an expensive coach, we are just going to have to give him 2-3 years to turn things around. he is 1.5 years in.

Now if his recruiting is less than stellar(top 5 average), and the next two years aren't much, much better record wise then banging the pot as loudly as you can, blowing up the AD and not renewing season tickets will send a message. Right now it's just futile to do anything but gritch on texags. Which is admittedly therapeutic.

It's really sad to say but they are 100% right. It also sucks that it won't change unless the team starts winning.

Everybody *****ed when Sumlin was here and got thrown out; correct should have happened. JIMBO comes in and everybody acts if he is the 2nd coming. He is our new best buddy! YAY! We go 9-4 his first year and lose 7-8 players to the NFL. Now we have looked crappy playing a lot of first year guys who admittedly are not up to SEC caliber in certain areas. Now everybody wants to toss JIMBO out kinda. Everybody is all over the players and *****ing and moaning.

We are our own worst enemy. I have posted the following on other spots on this board and either nobody thinks or nobody knows or nobody cares.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: We're not that good a program. We get a spark once every decade(92-93, 98, 2012) or so but that's it. It's not who we've been hiring it's Whoever is doing the hiring is the issue and I'm not talking about the AD. Something is rotten in the water here.

I don't blame them at all. Every time they talk us up, we go out and lay an egg. The day of the Auburn game, Gameday and SEC nation were talking us up, as well as the CBS announcers. Then the game happened and made them all look stupid

Pretty simple.

We're surrounded by three premier programs. Even in their down years they will draw elite recruits. LSU will always dominate their state. In addition, a whole conference of schools exist within Texas which will always draw some top recruits.

We are not getting all the elite players needed to compete at an elite level, regardless of coaching.

We were hoping joining the SEC would offset the competition with our former SWC and Big 12 rivals, and our recruiting has improved; however, so has the competition. Now as we appear mired in mediocrity, due to playing more competitive teams, Oklahoma, and now Texas, are rolling.

We were also hoping an elite coach would elevate our performance with the players we do have, but that seems not to be the case.

That's my analysis anyway.

How we've done in the past is completely irrelevant. You're looking for things that aren't there. There are PLENTY of programs with way less history than us that break out and achieve. It's all about hiring the right coach and supporting him. There's nothing "in the water."

Some of you fail to realize that by all accounts, finishing second in the toughest division in football, winning 9 games, and finishing in the Top 15 ish (16) in a coach's first year is really, really good. We lost a lot of key players; a drop should have been expected, especially with this schedule.

It sucks to have to read so many stupid opinions.

The Jumbotrons and piped in music all game long have sucked the life out of the crowd. The last time the full power of the 12th Man was on display was Nebraska 2010, and it wasn't just awesome, it was downright scary even for some Aggies like me. Good defense helps but is not mandatory, see OU 2000 where lots of points were scored, and I left Kyle physically beat down by the 3 hour cascade of jet engine-like noise.

We have sold out, and it won't be fixed until we hit the mute button. What do you expect when you have a loud video playing on 1/4 acre of video boards? 100,000 people yelling with snot flying out their nose or people standing there looking at a video with their mouths open catching flies? Let the game speak for itself, you have no chance trying to manufacture something better.

We're losing because the players and coaches on the field aren't intimidated.

No, We're losing because we're not really a very strong team.

Alabama plays in tough environments all the time with LSU and auburn on the schedule every year

The crowd isn't going to impact them. I can see why Kyle was hard for big 12 and swc schools because there wasn't another stadium that had an intimidating atmosphere.

On 2010, after starting like **** with an injured essentially armless Jerrod Johnson, Tanny came in and the rest was history. But that's not the most memorable part. It was the absolutely nasty defense with straight up men who gave it their all and gave us a brief reminder of what the wrecking crew was.

I'm talking 3 or 4 goal line stances against OU with the stands going absolutely wild. Then a week later, the unforgettable Nebraska game where we allowed 6 points. Michael Hodges, Von Miller, Jstew, and the rest of that defense played with pride and a relentless drive to win and defend our home field. We yelled through time outs and TV breaks and everything. I will never forget the ringing in my ears after both games.

This a long winded way of saying: Play with pride, and Kyle will be absolutely rocking. You lay an egg and get your **** shoved by auburn with a lack of effort and drive, and you'll get people leaving in droves in the third quarter.

It's sad watching you constantly e-defend and cheerlead for this program year after year. A&M is not good. It never has been. We won a bunch of games in the 90's against Rice, Houston and SMU but have never done anything of significance against anyone that matters. I don't know why you keep holding on to this delusional fairy tale that we are a premier program or a powerhouse. Did you not just watch Herbie and Fowler drag their drunk, sweaty nuts all over our chin and laugh at us while doing so? And there is literally nothing we can do about it because they are 100% correct. Kyle Field is a joke and everyone knows it. Commentators openly laugh at us. Everyone from Iowa State and Arkansas State to Bama and LSU casually walk into Kyle, promptly bend our program, traditions, history and culture over for four quarters and laugh at us on the way out. It's literally sadistic to expect our fan base to sit through the entire game and take it...over and over and over again, game after game, year after year but 100,000 of us do it every single year and keep coming back for more. We NEVER win big games at home. Ever. It took three literal miracles in a single game to beat a pretty good LSU team last year. Aside from that, our home record over the last twenty years or so is pathetic.

There was a good argument to be made that A&M had everything a school could possibly need to become elite, but consistently stepped on its own dick with terrible coaching hire after terrible coaching hire.
The thought was that if we could ever make a genuine hire, everything else would fall in line. That argument is now officially dead. If Jimbo Fisher can't win here, nobody will. There's no point in doing this any longer, it's over.

The problem is our culture and that isn't going to change so there's no point holding out hope that a football powerhouse will ever emerge at A&M.

But keep calling everyone idiots. Probably just a bunch of sip trolls and 2 percenters commenting on this thread. Back in the day, when opposing offenses verbally called the play in the huddle and snapped the ball by count, the crowd noise was a big factor. Today, with hand signals for play calling and non-verbal snap counts, crowd noice is less of a factor. And generally, the 12th Man doesn't start yelling until the opponent reaches the line of scrimmage. By then, it's really too late to impact the play. If we want to impact a play we need to be yelling when the play is being called; not wait until just before the ball is snapped. We've always taken our cue from Yell Leaders but no one really pays attention to them any more except for the occasional yell.

Pretty much right. Home crowd is supposed to get loud when your defense is on the field. For a LONG time our defense has been so bad the 12th Man could never really get into the game. Defense is better under Elko, but not yet good enough to get the crowd whipped into a frenzy like the old Wrecking Crew days.

Play great defense = have intimidating crowd presence.

Hell... Even if the defense wasn't as good, if the damn offense could keep us in the game we'd be loud.

This pisses me off. It's not like A&M has a history of being a great road team. There is a difference in the home crowd doing everything they can to make the atmosphere what it is and the football team being absolutely mediocre for decades.

I have been to Clemson, Auburn, Alabama, Florida, OU, Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech, Mississippi State, and not a single place was louder than A&M has been time after time. The only stadium I've been in that felt "intimidating" at all is Alabama. And it was only when I looked up at the walls and saw 17 years of National Championships displayed.

We can yell all we want but until they allow the student section to start making tackles, that's all it is. And it's better than any environment I've ever been to.
LSU at night is pretty intimidating....both on and off the field.
