Well, to be fair, we do have many active and former coaches who post here. Same for refs. Have a couple of posters who have reffed before.

I recognized a few of the posts from TexAgs but don't think they were on the game thread, more from the aftermath threads.

Unearned enthusiasm sounds about right. But who doesn't. I mean...other than Clemson and Bana in roughly that order at the moment.

If you watched the Texas-LSU game, there was effusive praise from the announcers about how Texas was creating a gameday experience. Ahem, kind of like what we've had for about 15 years. That's a hell of an experience when you almost get student(s) killed.

I actually am not going to go any farther with this, because it's a disgusting subject that I have no interest in pursuing on the football chat board. It's just unbelievable to me how many people are willing to consign someone to the outer darkness on the flimsiest evidence...

But you started this by criticizing Tenn fans for not wanting him. I take your second point and retract my statement.

You honestly cant understand why Tenn fans wouldnt want to hire a person who worked in that program at the time and had that accusation made against him by a fellow coach under oath?

I guess I'm violating what I just said by answering you post, but, I have to say: At the moment an unproven accusation (and a flimsy one at that) becomes enough to destroy someone, that's a travesty that should concern all.

Schiano was gone for years before any of the things that were substantiated happened. But it's so easy to repeat the charge with no real evidence, and it will dog him til he dies. To me, the evidence points to him not knowing nor ever being involved. If that's the case, then it is sad and unjust that he lives under a cloud.

And, to be clear, McQueary wasn't a fellow coach. They weren't even on the staff together. McQueary said after the fact (years after Schiano had left the program) that another coach (Bradley) told him Schiano had come to him. Bradley denies it, The prosecutors who looked into it characterized the allegations as "double and triple hearsay and of no value."

I appreciate you retracting your second statement, and I apologize for being harsh and flippant in both my responses.
