Completely agree. Texas HS football lends to good DBs not good LBs bc of style of play. Still seems wierd we can't get many good LBs from elsewhere.

There are 1600 high schools in the state of Texas. We can't find 2-3 guys per year that can play linebacker? Amazing! I'm not worried because Jimbo will go out of state but Texas high school coaches should be embarrassed.

Why is it so hard to get top LB recruits here?
You would get to play early and not be a line.
It's the same story every year.

We got like 4 or 5 last season and have one committed for this year. Relax.

Let's say we snag all these guys and hold onto all our verbal commits. According to 247 this would be good for the 3rd best class last year and probably around 6th or 7th for this year depending on how other classes turn out.

Umanmielen just committed so looks like he is off the table. Not sure what happened with his recruitment.

In most cases, we've had to settle. Not all, but most. We continue to miss on top LB targets. And the 1 LB commit we have this year had no other comparable offers. Nobody of note was recruiting him other than us.

Our LB recruiting has been weak overall the past 3-4 years. Every objective person who follows recruiting knows it.

I'm not sure of the numbers this year, but is your number before or after seniors graduate?

If 8-10 seniors graduate then that number goes down to 6-10. Major programs definitely go through that kind of attrition every year.

Per 247, Texas high school's produced 2/25 top ILB (1 to LSU and 1 to KU) and 2/25 top OLB (1 to tu and 1 to MSU).

Next year's attrition number is 25 - graduating seniors (6) - early draft entries.

16-18 is a good range.

Unless you are implying that I only have a high school diploma, I'm not sure what you are talking about. (We) as in the University of Texas. Graduated in the late 2000's.

I don't give a rat's ass who tu brings in. I know that's a foreign concept to a guy that trolls a rival's message board, but my main concern is Jimbo closing out this class as well as possible. If your guys aren't interested in being developed for the pros, that's their thing. Keep em. Moving onward with guys that wanna be here. Besides after seeing how the rankings were manipulated last cycle, not I'm not really interested in those clowns' opinions. Lol
