Didn't he get hurt against tu and was not able to play the following week at Arkansas?

I was actually at that game in Little Rock in '75 - I was 13 yrs old and living in Arkansas at the time, was a Razorback fan that day.

the wishbone took such a toll on aggie QB's...

it's hard to recall who was starting (and playing in) the various games in 74, 75, 76, and 77.

I believe Mike Jay started the 75 t.u. game...got the Ags to a 10-0 lead in the 2nd quarter...then got hurt. And Shipman played the rest of the way. I don't think Mike Jay played vs. Arkansas the following week

QB David Walker led the Aggies to bowl bids in '74 (A&M declined), '76 (Sun Bowl), and '77 (Bluebonnet) after he was voted by league coaches the All-SWC Freshman of the Year in '73. He and David Shipman were both incoming all-state quarterbacks in that 1973 recruiting class.

I was at this game as well. Sat on the track at Kyle. Almost 50 years ago now.

Did I miss the reason this was bumped from 4 years ago? I was in school when Shipman was and being from west Texas remember him from HS too.

Remember the 75 game at lsu. He and Bubba bean ran wild. 39=8 was the final, only way lsu scored was a blocked punt. I especially remember this game fondly because I wonder if we will ever win there again.
