Key notes from Boone Niederhofer interview

• A lot of different things inspired me to do this. I graduated from A&M, and started working in the oil and gas industry and got laid off. In my last game at Texas A&M, I tore my ACL. I wasn’t that great, and I only had one pretty good season. I knew I could do better than that. I had to get back into shape, but I knew if I did, I could compete. It’s been really cool to put my whole focus into this.
   
• I think the documentary doesn’t air until December, but I actually go to the training center tomorrow, so they’ll have a couple of months to do it. But, of course, the Olympics start in a year or so. My guess is that it will be through an NBC network of some kind but will definitely stream on YouTube at the very least.
   
• They bring out about 50 athletes to come out and compete and will include a lot of different workouts and exercises. All the athletes will go through and then there will be coaches from six different sports there. From there the coaches will invite the athletes to do specific training. From there, the coaches will invite certain athletes to come with them to do medicals and prepare.
   
• You get invited to training camp, and then from there you practice and then get the chance to qualify for the Olympics.
   
• I don’t know what it will look like when I get there, but I have been in contact with the bobsled coach and am already invited to go the rookie camp for that. If I do well there than I’ll have the chance to go to the Team USA training camp.
   
• Another deal for me to get back into it is it will be a lot of football workouts that I’m already used to, so I’m hoping I’ll get that strength back pretty quickly.
