Fisher gets paid more money than God to coach football for a SEC school that resides in Texas. A school that hands his program blank checks like one$ to a stripper.

And y'all think he's gonna leave for Baton Rouge after Woodward?

Are y'all acting under the assumption that they're lovers or that Fisher is in fact re_tarded?

At best it's a lateral move just to reboot.

It goes back to when Woodward was an assistant to Emmert and he brought in Saban, Jimbo, Bo Pelini and gave them as much carte blanche as he could. That worked out well as Saban and team won a natty. Only Saban found the political crap too much of a pain and bolted. The rest of the team bolted to parts unknown too.

A large part of getting Jimbo here was the promise that Woodward would recreate that same environment.

Jimbos' contract, that Woodward negotiated, has no buy-out if Jimbo leaves of his own accord.

There's no math involved, so this ain't hard.

Yeah make no mistake LSU can figure out a way to pay Jimbo.

I dunno..... Murphy's Law?!
How concerned were you that Woodward might leave before it happened? Prob not very but it happened.

I think he stays but I bet you a buffalo nickel Elko is not far down on that list. He's eventually going somewhere, it'd be nice if it wasn't there with that talent and those relationships.

Coaches come and coaches go! In my life in College Station I have witnessed 11 football coaches and 10 University Presidents, there's always another to take their place.BFD!!!!

And pretty much all of those 11 coaches sucked. The one we currently have does not, so have for those of us that are tired of sucking it's a bfd.

Well, as one gets older, one can become less "regular." And sometimes passing harder stools means that you're more likely to suffer a tear in the an-us. And who wants that?

Ooops... sorry. Read that as "Help me understand y'alls fissure concerns".

I thought one key element to drawing fisher was the blood specialists for his sons disease in Houston.

here's my prediction:

Ogeron wins 10 games again, and Jimbo stays at A&M for at least the next 6 years.

Fisher spurned LSU once already.

Think their pride will allow them to offer him again?

Alleva is the next guy at LSU, Fisher isnt leaving. He just got here, is getting his parts and pieces in place and would be a fool to start over again.

Besides, with a guy like Fisher already on board, the AD will likely have to go through him for approval as it is.
South Platte
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Alleva is a total joke. How he hung on to that job for this long is incredible. Senior Associate AD's have been jumping ship for years for lateral positions. Woodward will ****can all remaining administration and start it over.

Orgeron winning 10 games will be minimal acceptable performance. No way he squeezes out 10 wins this year.

He'll be fired in the locker room at halftime by Woodward with A&M up 31-3. It remains to be seen whether Jimbo coaches A&M or LSU in the second half of that game.

Why does everybody think all the medical specialists in Houston are such an enticement to keep Fisher at A&M? You know, Baton Rouge isn't that far from Houston either.

OP- think in terms of probabilities and personalities.

We went from a 99% chance that Jimbo finishes his career with us to an 80% chance. We don't like that. You would not either. Poaching a coach like him just doesn't happen very often, even with a full Brinks truck. There are maybe 5 other coaches on his level. There are 20 or so programs capable of backing up the Brinks truck.

Fact is that all coaches want an AD who will leave them alone and back them up when the storm hits (they always do, just a matter of time).

Fact is that Jimbo can go wherever he wants (except for Bama or Clemson) and get paid handsomely. He left FSU b/c he felt disrespected by their unwillingness to build facilities.

Does he feel disrespected by our admins pissing Woodward off enough to leave? Maybe. Again, we do not like being in maybeland on this one.

Jimbo will do whats best for Jimbo, he will never have any loyalty or give 2 craps about A&M. He only loves himself and that's pretty obvious for anyone that wants to look at his history.

If LSU gives Fisher a guaranteed 10 year/$8mm per contract or more, then I think he's gone. I don't trust A&M's administration to put together the type of environment that is conducive to keeping Fisher happy. Now, if Sharp gets fired, I might reconsider.

The concern is very simple: head coaches don't want to deal with bull***** If that's what made Woodward leave, then Fisher will eventually leave, too.

Bingo.

It amazes me how naive grown men can be. This is a job for these guys, they aren't emotionally attached to the school like alumni and fans. If there is more money and a better environment somewhere else... In their opinion, not yours... They will move. A&M is not the only attractive job out there, and a guy like Fisher, who is holding all the cards, doesn't have to put up with idiot administrators if they are overbearing.

Yet, Woodward is an alum of LSU. So, there is an additional factor.

The real question is can LSU even do that or do they even want to? Personally, I think Fisher is a GREAT coach, but he's not worth his money completely until he's won even a conference championship. If we're nowhere closer to that 2-3 years from now, I wouldn't be sad to see someone else deal with that financial bull*****

If we don't have a 10 win season by 2020 I wouldn't be ready to throw in the towel, but my concerns would be raised. Right now my concern of Fisher's ability is almost zero. If LSU had the money to do 10 year/$8mm then why do they have Coach O?

LSU doesn't, at least not right now. And honestly? Coach O isn't half bad. I think he's a good fit for them and he's a better coach than I give him credit for.

As for Fisher, I like him overall but I actually had my concerns about him even last year, especially after the Auburn game.

I would agree with all that. My "right now" is after LSU and the bowl game. Lose one of those and it would be a little different. I'll admit 3rd quarter LSU game and I was having some concerns as well.

LSU is already trying their damnedest to figure out how to pay for Fisher in 2 years. In that amount of time if there is a will, there is a way. Their donors caugh up way more money than you think even though their school system is broke. Fisher is literally going to have to choose our next AD if he is to stay.

In 2 years we can pay Fisher 10 mil per year. We are way out of LSUs league. If he wants to go for less money then that's a different ballgame. When you add up his salary and all of the assistants LSU can't touch us.

Whoa... $10 million a year?

The man has only won 9 games so forgive me if I don't get my check book out.
