I've never like the idea of going with gray face masks. It just seemed like an obvious ploy to try and be like the teams with more traditional/less changed over the years uniforms like Alabama, Ohio State, and USC.

Buckeyes wore alt unis last year. I don't think A&M did unless I'm forgetting.

The gray facemasks with matte helmets are great, just like the white/glossy combo.

DBs wear them at practice so the coaches can see how their heads are turned. Jimbo brought those to A&M last season.
