Yep, way past time for them to go to work, a football game isn't worth the time or effort. They have been talking about school finance for decades and still are working on it.McInnis80 said:
Call me when you fix school finance. Until then, don't bother.
I am all for bringing back the rivalry, but I honestly don't see the lie in this postLocknload said:
What rivalry?

Abbott needs stay out of college football and do the job he was elected to do.
He just lost my vote in the next election.

I refuse to stand with Governor Abbott on this one
I tend to look past the college football opinions of the Governor and look at the more important issues. Like border security for example.Mythotbetterthanyours said:
Vote his ass out of office. Then his opinion won't matter
I'm no fan of Abbott, but this is a really weird take. He commuted one death sentence to life without parole, and that's just too much for you to get past? And somehow the fact that it happened shortly before the execution was to be carried out makes it worse? Bad enough to let some guy die in prison later instead of sooner, but to give people execution blue balls is just beyond the pale I guess.jja79 said:
He lost me when he negotiated with murderer Thomas Whitaker last year while Whitaker was in the holding cell next to the gurney. Not fit for the job.
I'm assuming you were not a very big supporter of his in the first place if his opinion on a college football game is going to make you vote for someone else...rugger74 said:
Well he no longer has my vote.
Whitaker is the Baylor reject who hired hit men to kill his family. It went awry and no one was hurt. A couple of years later he hired more and drove them to his family's home where his mother and brother were slaughtered and his dad shot, but survived. I can't think of a worse crime than having your own family slaughtered. In the commutation document Abbott says he got a promise from Whitaker from the death house not to seek parole. Are you kidding me? He's making deals with scum?ActualTalkingThermos said:I'm no fan of Abbott, but this is a really weird take.
