The LOI is irrelevant. He enrolled and took classes at USC. He was then forced for to enter the transfer portal and transfer to Texas. The NCAA will then force him to sit until 2020 and lose a year of eligibility unless granted a hardship waiver, which is never granted for coaching changes.

This is false. They inflated their rankings and jumped from #9 to #4. Then they counted a transfer as a recruit and jumped from #4 to #3.

They still have Shepard listed as a commit.
Looks like they created another 4 star today. Despite dropping all year long he commits to Texas in November and rises 200 spots in the last month, up 93 spots just today.

you can argue all you want about what counts in the rankings, but, that kid is a beast and he's going to t.u.
after kliffy pumped him up with how great an OC he was gonna be for USC then quits 2 days after the semester starts. USC let him out of his LOI and the NCAA should let him play next year. He wasn't at SC three weeks and anyone that knows the kid knows the only reason he went to SC over texas is when KK was hired as OC.
I've watched him play varsity for 3 years at MD. He played WR and OLB. Kid can ball out.
I wish him the best. He's a good kid and a beast football player.
But, I wish he'd have gone anywhere but the sips. :-(

Tough. He's a transfer and should be treated as a transfer. Letting him play in 2019 sets the precedent that anyone can get out of an LOI.
He was offered a head coaching job in the NFL. Should all kids enrolled and taking classes in a school be allowed to transfer and play immediately when an asst coach leaves? That's insane.jb914 said:

He may be a beast. But he's a dumb beast if he went to usc solely for KK. I'm gonna go ahead and guess the kid from so cal that transfers two days into class transfers again at some point in his college career.
West coast kids in modern college football rarely turn out to be any good. He also seems to lack great decision making abilities. He'll be a bust for sure

He was leaning towards t.u. until Kliff came in as OC at USC. I was at the CA state championship game and Kliff was sitting right next to his dad in full on schmooze mode before the game.
Put yourself in his shoes. Your 50/50 with USC and Texas. Kliffy comes in and blows smoke up your ass then leaves 2 days after the semester starts. So, your college career starts off based on dishonesty, because, at the same time KK is selling you on his great system he is simultaneously negotiating for an NFL deal.
He signed early to enroll early. SC did the right thing and let him out of his LOI. The NCAA should do the same thing. Especially if they are going to give Fields(UGA) a pass.
yea, it sucks that the sips got a good one. But, don't trash the kid, who you don't even know, just because your an aggie homer. SMH
