Can't believe y'all haven't been through enough recruiting drama by now to think anything other than "wake me up when he signs"

Has been tu commit for long time. He just likes the attention and taking other visits as well. I don't think he flips for us..
This is my opinion as well. Based on Turner's track record, and us in the SEC he's gonna make a bad business decision if he sticks. JMO

Wouldn't doubt at all if he flips to the good guys. And a 6' 6" 330 lb tackle should always be welcome in any class.

Not if it's 330 pounds of what-about-me drama. Lotta red flags on this one.

I dunno. I've gone back and forth on this Shepherd kid.

Look at Leon O'Neal as a comparison in last year's class. Once he decommitted from us when Sumlin was fired, his recruiting shot through the roof, and lasted all the way until signing day (or a few days before). The top programs aggressively went after him because they wanted him badly - Bama, Georgia, Clemson, and OU. This was all DESPITE the fact that O'Neal made a lot of drama about his recruitment during this time. There were many on here claiming we shouldn't take him because of all the drama. However, the kid actually has a solid head on his shoulders and is extremely talented, which showed up in the bowl game in a very obvious way. He's got a bright future, mainly because despite the drama, he seems like a very self-motivated young man.

Javonne could be similar to Leon in this way. He's having a hard time making up his mind between A&M and texas, but he's doing what he views is ultimately best for himself. Who can blame him? He's got an enormous frame to work with and a lot of talent as well, so if we end up getting him I think it would be worth the drama.

If all would just ignore twitter, Insta, and FB....drama would not exist! How pleasant would that be....

There is no other place Bruce Matthews would rather send his kids to learn to be NFL offensive linemen. That should tell every recruit something.

Sure thing. He committed to the sips, but not really, took several other visits (with more planned), calls every visit "eye opening," writes contestant cryptic tweets of how he wants to "get paid," nothing about school/ academic, etc., and seems to be genuinely enjoying the attention/ drama of where he will sign.

I'm just saying, there is a lot of smoke here.

Smoke here for what? All I see is a 17-18 year old kid about to make a big decision.

he's the trainer for a lot of football players coming up in texas, i believe specifically the houston area. he's a mentor type for a lot of these kids so access to the kids sometimes goes through him

Do colleges sometime go through him rather than the players high school.

it depends on who the kid leans on most. kids lean on their parents/family sometimes, some on their coach, some on their friends/teammates and some on their trainers. footwork king i think is pretty unique and not common. if i remember right, he helped train brandon williams convert from RB to CB.

i think you'll see kids lean on specific trainers as that field of work opens up with a lot more 7v7 leagues opening up and offering kids alternative ways to get college coach exposure

Thanks. I think they be the group that i heard might be helping one high school recruit kids from one high school to another. I certainly hope that's not true of them.

Great answer technoviking. I would add that he's that + more. I don't want to characterize it as charity work, but for the vast majority of these high school and college kids, he does it pro bono b/c they. Great dude. Takes a lot of heat from Aggies for being a 'sip homer and takes even more heat from those damn folks in Austin for being an Aggie homer. He's like Switzerland but with drama from many sides.

He also trains wanna-be athletes who aren't in college...not sure if you ever heard of some dude named Antonio Brown (Steelers) or Emmanuel Sanders (Broncos) or Richard Sherman (49'ers) or Le'Veon Bell (Steelers) or Melvin Gordon (Chargers) or Ed Oliver (top 5 2019 NFL Draft Pick) just to name a few. He's definitely bigger than Houston and bigger than the NFL (field hockey guys to him for help!...seriously). In addition to technoviking help, I hope this also helps ashley.

Here's some real life results from his work:

I like how he trains high school, college and professional athletes in the same settings to the young ones can see the work ethic the pro's do and have a target to go after if they want to elevate from just being good to being great. Here's SMU grad Emmanual Sanders talking to some 4-star/5-star over-hyped high school kids about doing things the right way. He does this at Rischad's facility.

Most importantly (and outside the A&M diaspora), he's just a great dude that does amazing things with all kinds of athletes:

Ashley, if you go to the footwork king and workout with him this spring, you'll easily be able to make it on the 12th man roster! Gig'em

We're going after Shep because he's a heck of a ball player, and Jimbo wants him to play in maroon. Besides, he doesn't need Shep to land a player of Dumas' caliber.

Yes he might... the 2 guys are best buds and have mutual friends helping them as I understand. Securing Sheppard will keep Dumas a lock... add to that fact that Sheppard is a monster OT and one of the best in the nation it's a no brainer.

Jimbo doesn't need him for Dumas, but signing him helps keep Bamas of the world from stealing Dumas next class.

Most sup site conceded him back in Nov. One of them has a whole thread devoted to FWK as a handler.
