Yes, the chron could most definitely gotten the gender wrong of some dandy racist who likes writing letters. I don't think this is a separate person from the dude in the lawsuit Charlene reportedly gave to the twitter person.

I'm not denying that a person named Robin C. was arrested (and maybe for sending the letter to Sumlin, although there is not really any concrete link yet). But there appears to be at least 2 people in Houston with that name based on the links below. The UT grad referenced in the OP also appears to be a woman based on the previous links (and if that person has a May birthday, they may not be either of these people).
