Brings back a bad memory to read your post. We did that on the mid-90's against Colorado in Boulder. Tried power running between the tackles with a fleetfooted Leeland McElroy. He was an outside edge guy to me, not a bruiser. We never made an adjustment and the Buffs kept loading the box. Good guys came up short that day. I still don't know what our offensive guru was thinking. I think it was Steve Ensinger at the time, who is currently at LSU. Never made an adjustment that I recall. A slant pass across the middle was dropped and he never tried it again.
