My dad was in a similar situation in the mid 90's when he took me to a baseball game at Olsen field.

He yelled at the guys behind us for swearing so much, they laid off, and he didn't whine about it on an online forum.

When that happened to my dad and I in the 90's I just ignored it and heckled the other team as loudly and obnoxiously as the drunk guys (sans the cussing).

They thought it was hilarious and the cussing stopped and we made some Aggie friends.

Apparently not as soft as the millennial who yelled at a 10 year old. When I confronted him with a horn and asking him to yell at me to stop blowing the horn, he declined the opportunity.

My son was sitting in front of them, not behind them. Apparently blowing the horn in the 3rd qtr.

I wonder why the guy didn't tell anyone else to quit making noise. I bet he really gets pissed when players wave on the fans to make more noise. Good thing we weren't around him during the New Year... he probably came unglued... but probably only confronted the kids.

Who is soft... the guy who gets upset because people are making noise at an Aggie football game, or the guy who will yell at a child, and then refuse to confront an adult doing the same thing?

If the horn bothered them... I would have gladly addressed it. But they never said anything to me.

In my experience you can let your kid behave like a kid as long as you keep them in line and show everyone else around you that you are trying to be considerate.

It's when you let your kid go ape **** and do nothing to curtail their behavior or bring it down to an acceptable level that it annoys (most strangers).

For example: if you have a 10 year old.....and they have that ******* horn.

Make sure they aren't blowing it the entire time. Show them that you blow it either after a good play, or when the other team is on defense during a critical down so the QB can't audible at the line.

Then the kid gets to play with the horn in a positive manner, and the adults in the area appreciate the fact that while he is a kid, you are handling their behavior

I have a VERY rambunctious 6 year old that is loud and likes to jump on things, basically wreak havoc. But even when we are out in public and he is towing the line of what is appropriate we have never been *****ed out by a stranger because I manage that *****...let him be a kid, but show the adults in the area that I will not let **** get out of line and ruin their experience.

I am willing to bet that if your kid threw the horn at the dude and your kid is ten that you were doing a ****ty job of managing his behavior and that your kid in general has behavior issues.

I also have an 8 year old and neither he nor his 6 year old sibling would EVER throw an object at a stranger who had said something to hurt his feelings. At first glance I was going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume the adult was drunk and an ass.

HOWEVER The fact that ur kid IS TEN YEARSOLD and reacted that way tells me a whole heckuvalot about the context of the situation, your general parenting skills and philosophy, and how badly your kid is behaved in public.

Do better as a parent instead of blaming random strangers that your kid has no emotional coping skills, can't behave in public at the age of ten, and is a general nuisance. Fix that **** now or he will be th kind of kid that is bullied in school, whines incessantly to the teacher, and believes that a degree in underwater basket weaving should net him a six figure job out of college, and then lives at home for the rest of his life because he would rather play fortnite than be a contributing member of society.

Lol. Yes, let us turn to violence to solve our problems. DA94 needs to address the fact that his 10 year old was crying about what some adult said to him, but starting a fight with another adult seems a bit extreme.

And I'm not crying... I confronted the guy and he was unwilling to address it like a man.

Maybe it is just important for Old Ags to realize making noise at an Aggie football is no longer a thing. But apparently "booing" is.

The jackass of the game winner usually is a parent with a child/kids who expect everyone around them to make special considerations for their spawn who generally turn the event into a babysitting experience and ruin it for everyone unfortunate enough to be seated in their area. I mean, who doesn't want to stand in a puddle of the third Dr. Pepper your brat spilled? Or get up out of their seat for the 16th trip to the concession stand/bathroom in the first half? Or hear your young Louis Armstrong incessantly blowing his trumpet?

OP sounds like someone who is used to seeing groups move away from his table in restaurants. Unfortunately, at a football game that's usually not an option.

OP username says it all. These entitled Dallas folk always only thinking about themselves and wanting everyone to accommodate them

You clearly know nothing about my kids. It was a 1" piece of plastic... there was no intent to injure. Apparently my son said, "Here... is this what you want."

Clearly you are the better parent. See, my kids don't wreak havoc like yours and mine are very good kids.

I find it funny that you take exception with a kid throwing a cheap piece of plastic, but find it perfectly acceptable for an adult yelling at a kid for being a kid.

You deduce that I'm a bad parent because my son was blowing a horn given to him at a football game by the place we were at, and it was unacceptable for him to blow the horn on New Year's Eve.

If we had brought the horn, or this was church, or the adult had addressed it with us, maybe I could see your point.

Clearly I had bad parenting, because I blew the horn... but he wasn't willing to say anything to another adult.

Food for thought.

As soon as he arrived with 12mins left in the 1st qtr., he announced "we'll F, I'm in GD enemy territory, I'm about to get so drunk they are going to have to throw me out". (he had his son and wife in-tow). He was irritable but Ok for most of the first half until the game clock was turned off...then he decided to direct his anger at every stadium employee he could find. They gave him a warning and his wife/son begged he sit down and be quiet. After more beers and our 2nd half beat-down began, he started ripping F bombs at anyone and everyone and then started yelling insults at the yell leaders. Finally @ the start of the 4th he yelled at a police officer. He was gone within 30 seconds. Heard someone say they wrestled him to the ground in the concourse after he tried to pull away from his police escort.

What did he yell at the cops? We were one section over but couldn't hear.

It's interesting how stadium rules state that you can't take bottles of liquid into the game and noisemakers aren't allowed, then we get to our seats and they provided everyone with a bag of mini bottles of shampoo, a horn, and some headache powder. Maybe the headache powder was an afterthought?

I think they were catering to the NYE theme. Horn for celebration, headache powder for hangover and shampoo for finding yourself waking up in an unexpected and strange habitation.
