Action, you asked a fair question and got a stupid response. Some posters luke to show their "brilliance" by giving stupid or sarcastic responses. This is no place for serious or polite discussion.

For some reason Hezekiah Jones and Leon O'Neal thought they were supposed to be on the punt team for that play.

I have read that when any two A&M players have the same number, one of them has to be on the defensive side and the other one has to be on the offensive side so that they never would be on the field at the same time.Guess someone screwed up with the numbering protocols.
This is a coaching error. Even in junior high football coaches make sure this does not happen.

There is no excuse for a coach, with tons of GA coaches to allow this to happen.

Especially one of the highest paid coaching staffs in college football.

The coaches involved and the wrong number 9 should be out running this morning.

So did Jimbo address the issue at the press conference?

I'm actually kind of impressed the refs caught that. With everything they have to look for during a play: number of men, blocking, etc...to notice something that almost never happens, is pretty impressive.

I see what you did there.
Sometimes if you want a different answer, you have to ask a different question.

I hate the duplicate numbers especially on special teams. We only have 85 scholarship players. Give those who have no chance of playing 0 or 00.

last year on punts iirc one guy had to put on an Over-Jersey everytime he went out for his special teams assignment

it is not the number of people on the team, we have DB's RB's and Wr's all wearing the single digit jerseus

I'm gonna guess it had to do with someone filling in for an injured player.

There are 100 numbers to choose from and 80ish players ... IMO there shouldn't be double numbers at all. Obviously every school does this, but it's stupid

Just my luck. A thread about two-9s and I missed the opportunity to "Be an Ass" first. Oh sure, I could "Be an Ass" now but there's never an opportunity to be the first again.

What's the point of trying now? I'll just tip my hat to the first "Be an Ass" and wait for another opportunity.

Also, that was a dumb play.
