Just prior to the season, all the talk on the sports radio was "college football needs the Texas vs. Texas A&M game....the nation deserves it, etc....."

Until they lost to Maryland, and we looked good against Clemson. Renew the rivalry (crickets)..nothing on it, not a peep. The only reason they want it is because they think t.u. will once again be able to hold a dominate position in the state, over Texas A&M. Once it looks like we'd kick their ass, the media wants nothing to do with the rivalry. They want t.u. on top, period. When sportscasters like Braden Gall (ESPNU) make comments like when Michigan hired Harbaugh.."look at Michigan, putting their money where their mouth is. Harbaugh will bring Michigan back to the top of the college football world where college football needs them and they deserve to be...." and this last year "...Cinderella teams are a great feelgood story, but do we, does college football need them to be, in the playoff? No, college football needs brand name recognition, not Cinderella stories..."

Even when we win they just say, "well, it's a rivalry game and the best team didn't win".

My guess is if we had won either the game against Clemson or the game against Bama the article would have treated us differently. I doubt seriously we would lose even one game out of ten to UNT.

TCU and Texas might win more times in a ten-game series. But we have no plans to play them so who cares???

To win the SEC West would likely be the CFB Championship. It's an almost impossible task. Alabama is simply the best by far, in all of college football.

Give it a year or two. Beat LSU and a slew of other teams, build, and the Aggies will be in contention within two years with Fisher at the helm.
