Amen brother. Been there, done that.
Now I control my game day experience.
No hassling with parking and crowds.
Best seat in the house.
Great view.
Preffered selection of food and beverage.
Why go back?

I have a great big leather chair, air conditioning, a 75" Ultra HD thingie hanging on the wall and a son who's a master at cooking a prime ribeye to medium rare and pairing it with sauted mushrooms and a baked potato. I don't need stubhub or the 12th Man Foundation. The seats in the stadium are for suckers.
...and that "free" game that you're enjoying will only exist as long as people who appreciate the full fan-experience are willing to pay the costs associated with actually attending the games..

Then the onus is on the producer to provide a fan experience that is in line with the price point and quality that the buyer is willing to pay.

Simple rules of economics. The burden should never be on the customer to prop up a sub par product.

If attendance suffers, then the price point needs to be changed or the quality of the product improved.

It's that simple.

tu fans say the same thing.....

I kinda thought we were different. Support our team good or bad.

I might be wrong, but I don't think he is referring to the team being good or bad in terms of the quality of the product. The fan experience across football in general has gone down over time while prices have only gone up. Overpriced food and drinks, long lines at the gate, commercial breaks every 5 minutes, etc.

Then I apologize. I agree with the fan experience.
You're right. No mention of product on the field.

I can't stand the stadium experience either.

those late games were killing me anyway on the drive home so probably start attending more local game watching events at bars\restaurants just to get a little rowdy on some of the bigger games
I wanna see our defense pissed off, not confused, maybe a little murder in their hearts Reload12, 11/4/11

When Jimbo starts winning our home games, fans will flock back to be part of it. Fans were weary of Sumlin's inability to win at home.

Will they? Aggie football is no longer where I flush my disposable income down the sh tter.

I can't wait to see the Aggies start winning but a combination of things soured me on devoting a good chunk of time and money to attend 6-7 games a year. FYI the cost of lodging in CS was not a deterrent in my decision to discontinue tickets.

there is a little bit of fallacy here.

once someone finds another way to experience something / enjoy something...they don't always go back to the old way.

that's the danger of driving away customers in any line of business. They may truly find something better and not return

Wasn't intended to be a statement in absolutes. Agree that some will never come back and others will and so will some younger newbies. It'll fit the line for all of big sports national football although our line should likely uptick with the Aggie family loyalties being more than the national norm.

And don't forget the stadium was increased for the future growth, not immediately.

The stadium experience is great for students - standing in the heat, being noisy, not caring about game times or schedule conflicts, and being able to potentially walk home or to a place to eat while the traffic dies down. The stadium experience is a young man's game in the stands, and a rich man's game in the suites.

I priced out a trip to Jerry world when the A&M Arkansas game first fired up. I live in the Dallas area, so seeing my Ags play without a hotel or long drive would be quite a treat. Cheap seats were $110 x 4 family members + ticket handling fees put the tickets at just shy of $500. Parking was $40. Food would be between $50 and $100. Add a 2-3 game day souvenirs and we were well over $700 with at least a 5-6 hour commitment. I compared that to the cost of a new TV and spending only 3.5 - 4 hours on the game, not to mention flipping channels to catch other games during commercials, halftime, and timeouts. I would miss the Aggie Band and the game day atmosphere, but that was the only real downside.

It's tough to spend that kind of money where there are so many other options. Live sports have priced a lot of people out of the stadiums. I love my teams, but I have to love them from afar.
I support my Aggies 100% win or lose, without complaint and without reservation.

This is such a weird year. I had season tickets for the last 13 years, many of those awful seasons. Gave them up this year and just haven't been interested in offseason news at all. Not really sure what it is, but never thought I'd be at this point. If I look back at it though my interest began to dwindle when we were kicked out of our seats with the reseating. What pissed us off even more is we rarely saw anyone sit in our old seats over the next couple of years.

Well how did you see those empty seats when those seats were demolished and gone forever. I like all the feel good stories about giving up seats after umpteen years and expecting us real Ags to feel good for you.

I'm guessing you're being sarcastic but they're not gone just renumbered. I was in the zone which wasn't touched. If not being sarcastic then just go on and keep making assumptions.
Not wanting you to feel anything for me. I was simply telling an anecdotal story that apparently is becoming more common.

Spot on. The time commitment and money don't jive. I don't hate on the troopers that still do it, but it is tough justify the logistics and economic costs associated with attending A&M games these days. In short, in-person Aggie football is not prudent for me.

The exceptions might be SEC road trips and maybe destination cities hosting bowl games (i.e. not Shreveport) where you can roll the cost of football into the other travel expenses.

It's the best solution now but it certainly is not simple. Flash Seats was extremely convenient and had reasonable fees for low demand games, especially for non-football. It took very few steps to list and buy.

Now if I want to avoid $10 fees for a $10 ticket I have to go to one site to make a deal, another to pay, then another to get the ticket. I am always buying at least two though, so really I'm avoiding $20 to $30 in fees for 2-3 cheap tickets. As long as the demand is equal to previous years there will be less folks in the stands.

We're taking the opposite tack this year. Finally bought season tickets again after years without (had to give them up after kids were born, early Fran years). Yes they are grossly expensive but 1) we are an hour drive from CS and don't have to worry about hotels/overnights, 2) just miss being part of the stadium experience, yes the comforts of home blah blah blah but being a part of the 12th Man doesn't mean yelling at the TV sitting on my couch IMO, and 3) honestly I'd be more hesitant to do this if I didn't firmly believe in Jimbo and staff. After years of "guess hires" I just feel like we finally got it right. And I'm drinking the koolaid.

It really is simple though, and no barcode entry in the trsnsfer process anymore. I guess if the seller always had digital tix in the past it was somewhat simpler, but the new process takes very little time and still avoids paying any fees. Some folks say there were no fees selling on flashseats. That was not the case when that started, so I never sold on flashseats, just transferred.

What, there was never a fee for selling season tickets via flash. If you bought single game to resell, yes, there was a fee, but never for season tickets you bought through the TMF.

Have you been to the stadium the past few years? If not, I would be interested in your take on the overall experience. Like many others here, I am jaded since the renovation.

Your definition of simple is a bit different than mine. It's still extra steps on the seller side, you have to use multiple sites in your example transaction. As stated before it was free to list in flash seats, so now both the seller and buyer have to jump through hoops to avoid ridiculous fees.
Expert Analysis
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Even if you were not looking to sell the new system is way more complicated. You need to download your tickets for each individual game and then be able to pull those downloaded tickets up on your phone when you get to the game. There is no simple card swipe entry like flash seats. Having season tix to multiple sports makes this new system a PITA.

The buyer pays to paypal. the seller transfers from their TMF account, not hoops really. If no TMF account, ......

The Clemson game is going to be such a huge cluster this year. 2nd game of the season, with a new system, that no one will know how to use, because no one will be going to our Thursday night opener against a tiny school.

I have in fact. About 5 or 6 times in "new Kyle". I hate the DJ. I can't stand that we have to do 15 award presentations to BMA's during commercial breaks. And if we honest to God start with that K-State/high school "That's a Fighting Texas Aggie.........FIRST DOWN" crap I may blow a gasket or two. Other than that.......it's business as usual. I think the stadium itself is fine. Aggie game day will always be Aggie game day. And I'll never get tired of it. I'm already old so nothing's gonna change at this point lol. I just think there's no game day atmosphere, no Kyle Field, without butts in the seats and people making noise. I know it's been frustrating as hell watching Sumlin and Chief/Snyder blow game after game at home. That's why I'm buying in now. Change is coming........

Ditto what dixichkn said. Also hasn't been the same since we quit having Spirit right before kick, when the stands were full. F the dj anf first down crap. No points for a first down. The product on the field has made it all worse. You could predict SEC teams would pick up third and long.

Once your digital season tickets are in you Apple Wallet you can "Share" them with anyone for free. Downside is you have to deal directly with the person but most of us do because we use Ticket Exchange to transact the sale. If you are trying to Scalp tickets or buy on the open market you have to use Stubhub and of course they are going to be charged a fee just like they do on every other transaction.

Disclaimer: I never sold my tickets on Flash Seats though I sent them to friends regularly for free so i don't know the fee structure with them but I believe it was pretty high too.

Question: is there some reason why 12th Man doesn't operate a ticket exchange? Just asking.
