One of my neighbors (Yell Leader Class of '59) is wanting a small statue of the 12th man. Anyone know where I can get one for him? Thanks,

I've love a medium one for my back yard!

Also, my dad was class of '59.

There is a smaller one over by the fountain at the MSC. They moved it away from Kyle so I guess nobody wanted it anymore.

The smaller one by the fountain was the class gift from '80. It stood at the north end of Kyle Field up until the time they began the Kyle Field remodel. Our class agent team (I was a class agent at the time) found out our "Class Gift" was destined for storage due to the new bigger 12th man statue. We immediately jumped in with both feet and over the course of about a year and a half, we worked with the athletic dept and the university and came up with the current location by the fountain (there were several alternate locations discussed)

Enough of that history.... not to long before my class agent term expired, we had begun working trying to get a 1 foot tall replica of our statue to sell with the money generated going towards scholarships for current students. We immediately found out it was going to be a long process due to the original sculptor having died and the bureaucracy of the university. I've been out of the loop for 3 years now, but hopefully someday we will be able to make this happen. 1 foot tall replicas of the "original 12th man statue" would make an awesome mantel piece in the house!

I think that's the "12th persons" statue. Being PC and all.

They could sell replicas of that monstrosity for scarecrows.

E. King Gill before the renovation >>>>> E. King Gill after the renovation.

Which reminds me, where is the good one located now?

This is where an upper classman looks over at a bunch of fish and says, "Freshmen, I can't tell you to do this, but it would be really red ass if that statue was on our floor by morning..."

Then magic would happen.

You can pick that thing up anytime and I'm sure there are plenty of folks who would be glad to remove that ugly pos from being next to our beautiful stadium.

Let's melt it down and make a giant animatronic Rev spanning across Houston street.
Like this but less tacky

Would it not be possible to 3D print it from a virtual model? Or cast in plastic, pewter, or ceramics from 3D printed molds?

I mean, if we're talking about a desktop conversation piece it doesn't need to be brass or aluminum.

Having several god-awful statutes, with two being the same thing, is why there are Aggie jokes, folks.

We had a decent 12th Man statue originally but some genius or consortium of geniuses thought a bigger, better EKG was called for. And why not make a creepy yell leader statue and bunch of zombies sawing it off too? Bonus points for diversity and huge metal boobs.

Uh oh, we pissed off the people who funded the original EKG statue so now we have to put both statues on campus.
