moses malone to sixers to play with Dr J was a huge one back in the day.

regardless Myles doesn't have the skins in the game to critique kd.

now someone like Joe Thomas who played O line for cleveland his whole career could.

let's see where myles lands when he's a free agent before we automatically validate his opinions.

Love MG, but maybe he should tap the brakes unless he's committed to a full career with the Browns.
football and basketball are very different in those respects.

There's only 5 players on an NBA team and it very much has become a super team league. A super team will be needed to take down the Warriors.

The same cannot be said for the NFL, there's too many moving parts to create a super team that's almost a guarantee as it is in the NBA.

I wonder what his opinion of Lebron will be if he goes to the Rockets to create another super team to challenge the Warriors.

I don't disagree, but you can bet Cleveland fans will be calling him out if he leaves even for legitimate reasons. Obviously MG is doing well for himself and he doesn't need my input, but he seems to be opening himself up to future criticism.

This is the reason I can't stand KD

I'm sure if Myles had a choice on which team to play for, the Browns would not have been his first choice.

Garrett hadn't earned the right to be opening his mouth like this. He hasn't done anything.

Myles is missing an important part of KD's move: Fun

KD had little fun with Russell Westbrook. He did great things for OKC and owed the city nothing. The guys on GSW wanted KD, didn't care about the spotlight of KD, and gave him the chance to have fun in the workplace.

The competitor talk is nice for speculation but I fault no league vet for finding a team they enjoy working with. Most of us do/want the same.
Russ sucked all the joy out of Paul George and Carmelo too. The guy is a vampire.
George will bail, and Melo will stay because playing for the Thunder turned him into a shell of a player, and he has to opt in to get paid.

In OKC you basically root for Russ to take at least 10 of Adams' rebounds a game so Russ can get a triple double.
Adams, to his credit, lets this happen. The Kiwi is a great interview too.

Bakery and Malone didn't. Scotty I don't remember
They didn't, but they definitely joined these squads with one reason in mind. Making a super team to make it easier to win a championship.
yeah but they did it at the end of their careers, not at their prime

So you could make the argument that Lebron and Durant were smarter than those guys...

Eight years stuck in Oklahoma...how can anyone fault KD?

Give it a year or two and Myles will saying to himself "WTF am i doing in Cleveland"?

I hate KD as much as the next guy (Rockets fan here), but I don't understand hating on him because he joined the Warriors. If you are one of the best players in the NBA, and you receive an offer from the best team in the NBA, why the hell would you turn it down?
Yes, he's pulled his weight on the Warriors juggernaut, but it looked pretty lame when his team blew a 3-1 series lead and then he immediately peaced out for the team that embarrassed him.

Sure is easy to have fun when you are winning. Bet that will have a drastic change when losses start piling up.

Why would MG open his mouth and do that kind of 'hot take' criticism of another pro athlete that presumably he doesn't know? A pro athlete that isn't even playing the same sport that he plays? I know MG is hanging around in Cleveland and probably knows some of the Cav players, and the Cavs just got their ass kicked and sent home by Durant and the Warriors, and probably have been whining about the Warriors a bunch.

But seems kind of classless on MG's part to publicly opine on how some other pro athlete is personally living his life and handling his career. If I was Durant and saw this, I'd just laugh about how MG will probably be begging to be traded to a winning team in about 3 years. Because Cleveland is a small market town and the Cleveland Browns flat out suck. The Cavs are maybe about to really suck as well too if LeBron decides to leave town

Myles needs to learn that until you are in another person's shoes it is hard to pass judgment on the decisions of someone else.

Really hard.

Oh, and KD just got handed the MVP for the Finals after a great performance.

I have no favorites when it comes to the NBA. My kids like watching it. I literally couldn't care any less. And KD had a great Finals.

Yea, he's a sip. Big deal. He won a ring and played very well. Anyone who says otherwise comes off like a butthurt 12 year old. That guy is an amazing athlete and is at the top of his craft.

The problem is, OKC should have beat GS in the WCF the year before he jumped to form a super team while taking a pay cut. ***** ass move, easy way out, NBA sucks now.

So the modern super teams were ok when Bron and Bosh went to the Heat? Yet they still lost to Dirk lol, not when it's Bron vs GS it's unfair for them to have a super team?

The funny thing is the GM of the warriors is a genius, he crafted that team off rookie contracts and drafts essentially lol same way with the astros in baseball lol. They became a "superteam" they weren't a conglomerate of the best players who decided to join up.

Also go rockets lol

We all know sports isn't really about winning championships. It is about making the journey to the top of mountain as hard as absolutely possible on yourself. If there is a paved road, screw taking that. You gotta climb the steep cliff with cactus instead.

Two different moves. The Heat were not a championship contender, & yes, LeBron got hell for colluding to make a "Superteam". It was unprecedented to have three in their prime All Stars.

Durant went to a 73-9 team. A team he was up 3-1 with Russ in the western confrence finlas. A team that blew a 3-1 lead over LeBron. A group that already had three All Stars & two potential HOFs all under 30. It was the easiest path to a championship.

KD didnt even get respect from his own boss at the parade.

The only reason you haven't seen more circumstances like what Durant did, is that it was a very unique set of circumstances. There was a huge unusual cap spike due to a television deal and the Warriors also had a very advantageous contract with Steph Curry (who had signed it when his ankles were really iffy...then he blows up into one of the NBA's best 5-6 players). So you had the 2nd best player in the league (Durant) who by chance was unhappy where he was currently at, was becoming a free agent, and was a great fit who could easily be plugged into Golden State's scheme, who just happened to have the cap space to fit him in.

I'm willing to bet that 9 out of 10 superstars would have done exactly what Durant did had that opportunity been sitting in front of them. The best team in the league with a really fun playing style is aggressively recruiting you to come join them. Leave Oklahoma to go live in the Bay area.

It is like you if you are playing in an intramural league with some teammates you don't really like that much anymore (in Durant's case), and the best team in the league that plays in a much nicer gym and has a bunch of guys you do like is inviting you to come over and join them. And you turn that down? Uh...not likely.

Or, from both Durant and GSW's perspective, it is like an unusual set of circumstances created a one-in-millions lottery jackpot situation that would make it significantly more likely that they could together win a bunch of NBA titles in the next several years...and there appear to be a bunch of jealous or something people out there complaining about it and saying that the right thing to do would have been for Durant and/or Golden State to have said 'No thank you' and turned the lottery jackpot down. That they should have given those lottery winnings to some charity case out there instead (i.e., Durant should have gone to some other worse team than Golden State instead of the best team).

You guys are hilarious. Pretend you are a badass in your job/company having to carry the majority of the load and never quite getting the success you want. Would you stay there or would you jump at the chance to work for an elite corporation with the best of the best and meet your career goals?

I know which I would pick. Great players want to play with other great players.

1. If I were Myles I wouldn't have said that.

2. I also think that KD took the easy way out, but I've also changed jobs when I no longer felt it was in my interests to stay and it's very much a personal decision.

3. I would hope Myles grows into a sense of comfort that includes his own sense of who he is as a man without being perceived as being "just" a source of sound bites.
