And Kobe raped someone, yet is still a hero. Don't want to be all "get off my lawn", but this is exactly why the country is going in the crapper. Thou shalt not worship false idols.

Kobe was never convicted of rape.

OJ didn't do it either.

Not sure if serious. Nicole's blood was literally found in O.J.'s house and on his socks at his house. O.J.'s blood was found at the scene, along with a bloody shoe print of shoes that O.J. was seen wearing on T.V. O.J.'s was found on Ron Goldman's shirt. It was a forensic slam dunk. Unfortunately it was just after the L.A. riots and Johnny Cochran convinced over half the impressionable jury that LAPD planted some of the blood evidence.

Ray Lewis killed someone, kept playing in the NFL, and is now a TV analyst who often criticize players off field behaviors....so I'd say Z is good to go.
Two people*
Oh yeah I forgot 2 people lol....My favorite was watching Ray rip Johnny to pieces morally when he was in his downward spiral for partying. Kill people no problem but damnit you're a terrible human if you just ruin your NFL career with partying.
Ray Lewis didn't kill anyone. His 2 friends did, and he lied to protect them. And then pleaded for obstruction - and flipped. No one was charged in the case, as it was deemed self defense.

Prime example of what's wrong with our society right there. OJ wasn't guilty either because the glove didn't fit?

No, OJ wasn't found guilty in a court of law. And I am thankful for our justice system. It protects the rights of the accused. If you pay attention to history, this is one of the fundamental elements of a free society.

Yep and on the flip side our justice system allows murders and other evil doers to walk free

Civil suit. Completely different burden of proof. Again, I am thankful for that.

Murderers and evil doers walk free in every society. Please don't let that be your best argument to change our entire society and our justice system.

Curious, why are you thankful that O.J. was found not guilty even though there was over whelming evidence that he brutally murdered two people? Odd case to be thankful for our judicial system.

I've never understood the whole thing about sports players being anyone's hero. You can want to model your game after them or feel happy to meet them someday, but to buy anything because they do or worship them for being good at a sport is stupid (inho) . I know I'm in the minority with this apparently, but never had posters of individual players or anything growing up (teams yes).

This is not to say that the players who are good people and use their fame to do good aren't worthy of this at some point, but they would be my hero because of who they are and not what sport they play.

Learn to read. I said I was thankful for our justice system, not all of its outcomes. The distinction is an important one.

A lot of these players come from broken homes and to a kid growing up in a similar situation it can be very inspiring. For some, there is no realistic chance of breaking free and becoming the next great scientist or computer guru. So seeing someone who busted their ass and elevated themselves to stardom through hard physical work and determination, it can be very relatable and feasible.
