Sherman, Fran, Sumlin, ?????
To put Sumlin in the same group as Sherman and Fran shows how little you know about Aggie football.MondayMorningQB said:

Jeff. Tom Wilson got screwed. He had two excellent recruiting years and had good seasons approaching being excellent. He and Gary beat the crap out of Barry Sanders and a good Okie State team in his last game. If he stays he wins 9 or 10 in 84 and 85. Jackie took advantage of the talent Tom brought in. Scratch golfer too.
Played a few rounds with him, including one with Lee Trevino in El Paso on Lee's course Santa Teresa

Jackie was an ass!
Tom Wilson was fired at the end of the 1981 season. Barry Sanders didn't enroll at Okie Lite until 1986. Chronology, chief.Quote:

Dont understand the hate for Sherman. Dude was dealt a bad hand after Fran, brought in serious talent that he didnt get full use out of, gave us several first round picks and laid the foundation for a Heisman.
I hated his second half collapses as much as the next guy, dont fet me wrong, but he is nowhere near the same category as Foldberg or Fran.

We need a sleepy Sherman for Aggie Mount BASmore.

Lol Sherman hands down no questions. I remember when we hired him a collective WTF echoed through the big 12 and NFL. Aggies gave up that day.
My daughter ('07) was standing in line when the "List Eater" incident occurred and entered Aggie lore.el_scorcho said:

But Sherman would not go 11-2 with those same players. No JFF at QB. Same second-half collapses, assuming we'd have leads at any time against Bama, Ole Miss, and MSU. Might even have lost to La Tech.TexanJeff said:schmellba99 said:

I agree with this guy, for all the Mike Evans Love, Von Miller excitement and Matthews brothers nostalgia we would have none of that without Sleepy Sherm. Yes, 2011 was bad for BAS but that was one year. Every Fran year including the two he beat tu had total WTF moments AND the program was decimated for whoever came in next. Sumlin goes 11-2 with Sherman's players.

I agree Walkon...I Wilson had stayed he would have been successful. He came in under a difficult situation w/ Bellard quitting.67walkon said:
