I'd guess half that amount for off field support staff. That said, I never thought of Anwar Richardson as having any credibility.

Mazzone brought in Josh Rosen to UCLA. He will likely be a 1st Rounder. Likely would have been anyway, but from my understanding, Mazzone impacted Rosen, even before getting to UCLA. Sosa Jamabo was also part of the same recruiting class.

Starkel was WAY down the list of QBs. We had a commit (some guy now at tOSU) and from all outward indications... Starkel is going to be great.

I have opinions about Gunnel. But, Mazzone may have a tight relationship with him and Chase Lane, Jalen Curry et al, from St. Pius. He may also have influence towards other recruits we have on the board.

So... spending $1M on Mazzone just to improve recruiting for 2018/2019...

You're saying he was hired with the intent to break NCAA rules? QC coaches are not permitted to participate in coaching duties including directly recruiting players.

As mentioned above, QC coaches can't coach on the field or recruit.

But this is probably a good landing spot for Mazzone. His biggest problem was adjusting theory for players or game time conditions. So an offline analysis role fits him well.

Didnt he just just finish year 2 of his deal? Thought I read the buyout was $500K for the remaining years.

It will not be with this 2018 class, but starting in 2019 we will be knocking the snot out of tu in recruiting. Every single one of Jimbo's hires are excellent to elite recruiters.

Texas already has a QB committed next year in Roshon Johnson. I doubt they are looking to add a second since they have 4 underclassmen QBs already on campus.

Second, I hear that the biggest competition for Gunnel is going to be Arkansas, I don't remember why they are, but there is a relationship with the Arkansas staff that might sway him away.

If you saw the play calling at Texas last year you would know that the Texas offense is going to need all the help they can get.

As for the Texas oline, they are hosting a few grad transfer guys including an all conference guy who is an instant starter if he decides to pick Texas.
