Elko was the prize imo. What he did with wake forest talent in 2016, his stats were matched only by 3 playoff team defenses last year. Jimbo said his defense was the hardest he faced at fsu. Hes young. Hes got the juice. And now he has a championship coach to work for. Here we go.

Our next chess move, given LSU's cash situation, should be to poach 1 or 2 of their key defensive staff. Need to increase our recruiting footprint in Louisiana...

I believe we have a head football coach who knows what he is doing. Things are really looking up and that is great news!!!

I like that the latest point on his resume is a win over LSU.

Coach LB, it concerns me that Elko's base defense is 4-2-5, which Chavis insisted on using against SEC running. Does that concern you?

That's a stupid strategy. Go out and get the best coach's available... If they happen to be on LSU's staff great... Why not try and own our own backyard first. LSU pulled more top 25 recruits out of TX last year than we did.

You think LSU doesn't have a crap ton of money? dishing out an extra million per year is pocket change to SEC boosters.

I believe Elko will be multiple. I believe he will scheme to his players this season. I love the 4-2-5 but I coach in a spread league. But I think he will take a look at his players and what they fit better in.

Elko is as good as Aranda. What he did at Wake Forest and ND is just as impressive as what Aranda has done with the Tigers. And with lesser talent.

In addition to run stopping, another concern I have about the 4-2 is that it could hurt LB recruiting when only 2 LB are on the field at one time. We have struggled recruiting top LB under Sunlin and Chavis, even though we did get Hines. We need quality numbers there and we need to use them.

I like the smell of fajitas better. But Coach is right, it is a great hire!

This was very good move and made quickly. It almost seems like it had been in the works and we can't belive everything BZ and Billy were reporting. I think we were in talks with several guys and circling back as necessary.

It doesn't matter what I thought or think about how it was handled, but this more than makes up for it.

Jimbo's ability to play 4D chess is amazing. Make LSU over pay then get just as good an option from ND. Well done!
