Ok, I just looked it up. Leonhard makes $600,000. We could double that without batting an eye and still be way cheaper than Chavis.

It's not Leonhard.
We are starting to have all the possible current DCs fall off the board although there still is Schiano, Kwiatkowski, Lupoi, Tucker or Manny Diaz. If it is not Leonhard I'd say by process of elimination it is one of these guys.
Schiano is not the guy either. It is none of those guys you mention above. Look out for Dave Aranda from LSU or Don Brown from Michigan.
No way it is Aranda. At $1.8 mil the guy is already the highest paid assistant in college.

Just watch.

Brown makes $1.4M so not much cheaper than Aranda. If those are my two choices, rather have Brown. The Michigan D ranked better than LSU in all but 3rd down conversions according to 2017 NCAA stats to date. Michigan #3 in Total D to LSU #11. Both a lot better than us!

Since hearing Brown's name being mentioned, I wonder if assistants get tired of Harbaugh after a while. Also, if Michigan is not competing for Big10 Champs next year, will Harbaugh start thinking about the NFL when fans start complaining. Either may give Brown reason to look around.

You blowing smoke? Or have some solid info? There is a lot of smoke around Aranda, primarily because of all the Coach Yaw-Yaw and Canada crap. Toxic atmosphere.

In for a penny, in for a pound. If you already went $75M to get an elite HC, why not go in another $2M to get an elite DC?

Bo Pelini makes the most sense. He would be a good hire

Pelini still needs to go through the Saban Rehabilitation Center for Disgraced Coaches before he goes back to a P5 program, even as a coordinator. Guy is BSC.

Putting two major alphas in the same room never ends well.

Especially when one is prone to peeing his pants.

If we have people not wanting negative publicity from Schiano hire, they definitely won't want Pelini!
Lot of tension and a lawsuit this season, and while October report claimed Tressel also supported Richmond, September report indicated Pelini ignored Tressel.

Nebraska might be happy with a Pelini hire, though! They're still paying him $2.875M thru 2018.
