Just asking. It appears Fisher is running out of viable options as names continue to get taken off the list. I hope Fisher has someone already lined up who is being super quiet, but I've hoped before and left empty-handed.

Also, with the new tax laws going into effect January 1, will that issue come into play if a school wants to hire a DC wanting a multi-million dollar contract? Just another wrinkle to consider.

The reason I say that is because we aren't swinging and missing on all those people hahah. Jimbo and Woodward have a plan. The Jimbo thing was leaked but also known that they had a handshake deal in place and Jimbo wouldn't screw his friend at the last minute. Most do not have a relationship like they do, so even if a verbal agreement is in place it can fall through a lot easier.

I think Jimbo has his guy nailed down and Looch knows who it is. There would be only ONE reason Looch would cross off the DC that we are gunning for and that would be at the directive of someone important to keep the deal from getting screwed up. Foster could very much still be in play. We almost signed him before then we bailed for Chavis so maybe he had some pause. I'm not sure but I am sure we will be fine.

We're trying something new this year. Hiring two OC's, not fielding a defense. Will have offensive players line up as mirrors to the opposing offense, but will act like we have the ball. We are about to revolutionize college football

Forget Don Brown the man makes 1.5 million a year and just signed a 5 year contract he is not leaving Michigan or Harbaugh.

Assuming Liucci has inside information, these four have not been struck down by Liucci.

I agree about Diaz and Brown not being options.

I think things have changed a bit since the start (for the better). Looch's hints seems to be indicating a pretty significant announcement. If I'm betting, I'd say names that were off the board may still be in play. That said, he seems to have ruled out some recent names and re-confirmed it wasn't others.

What about Leonhard from Wisconsin? Haven't seen his name mentioned much, if at all, on any of these DC posts and think he'd be good. What he's done in one year with that D is impressive; NCAA 2017 stats showing #1 in Total D, #3 in scoring D, #4 in pass yards allowed, #2 run D.

Would fit the "hints" ... He's a DC with DB background, coaching in a new year bowl game that's not a playoff game, etc. Has he been ruled out already b/c of youth/inexperience? a Wisc alum, don't think he'll leave? some other reason?

Genuinely interested in others' thoughts on him as a DC prospect. Thanks!

Yeah -- like Elko. He knows iti s a no-no in the coaching biz to make a lateral move after just one year at a school. 10 to 1 he just used his talk with A&M to get a raise from the Irish. SMDH

Wisky (Alvarez) has a history of being tight when it comes to salaries. Don't know what Leonhard makes now, but based on their track record, it's probably waaay below what we would be willing to pay.

Ok, I just looked it up. Leonhard makes $600,000. We could double that without batting an eye and still be way cheaper than Chavis.

Schiano is not the guy either. It is none of those guys you mention above. Look out for Dave Aranda from LSU or Don Brown from Michigan.
