That is an awesome video. On 5 April 03, right on the outskirts of Baghdad airport, I got to watch an even more awesome display firsthand from the gunner's hatch of my M113A4. 2 Warthogs on a CAS run approximately 200 meters from my vehicle's location. Most awesome sight I've ever seen!

LOVE THOSE A-10s!!!!!!

What? No reference to LV at all in his comment. In fact there is no correlation to LV whatsoever. These planes and their pilots protect us throughout the world. It would be nice to hear some noise by the gun on these planes to let the feeble minded-know that we have the resources to do damage to those who wish to do harm. Nothing about the innocent getting harmed.

An A-10 is not a bump-stock gun

Unbelievable!

Thanks. I think I knew this, but all I could think of was the disease.

I blame House MD.

A10s have been spotted!

Picking up some tractor parts off Tabor rd just now, heard a jet that didn't sound typical. Saw them flying in formation just over head. Beautiful!

Thankfully, they didn't BRRRT me when I got the phone out.

The most welcome sight to American infantry. Had the pleasure of seeing them and their work up close on several occassions. Including multiple gun runs less than 150 yards from me.

"Havoc" if you are in here, I still owe you a **** ton of beer from me and my squad.

HAHA. Anyone who thinks that aircraft can break the sound barrier has never seen it fly. They are slow as hell.

They keep trying to retire them and the services keep telling them no.

There simply is not another plane in our arsenal that can do what the Warthog does... Period!

Second to none in close air support for ground troups, to say it is overpowered is an understatement, carries a TON of ordnance, as someone said above it is damn near indestructible, and can fly home almost in pieces... just as long as that BIG ASS gun is still attached!!! Haha

Seriously, it is one of the most impressive pieces of machinery in the moden era of warfare and it's 50 years old, has served in every major conflict and just got re-deployed last year to Incirlik Air Base Turkey to fight ISIS!

And I'm sure it helps that the enemy knows them as the Crosses of Death!!!

From what my grandpa told me as a lifer in the Air Force... served in Vietnam, Korea, and stationed in Okinawa for 6 years... there is not a more feared plane out there... The Warthog is hands down THE most terrifying or glorious sound to hear on the battlefield depending on which side your on!!!

That fast bird, with that big gun, and the best pilots in the world flying it... aimed at you... Scary as hell.
Well said. Very well said.

Which is one reason they are so deadly. Low, close, and slow, they deal out death.

Agreed. That's a low pressure cloud generated by a wing producing lift. Bonus wingtip vortices. Caution wake turbulence,

I took some pictures at Easterwood of the A-10 Thunderbolts (Warthogs). They had a static display Friday afternoon Oct 6 from 4-6pm. Got to visit with the pilots too. They don't advertise this much, but the Aggie corps seems to know about. As you can see, they were 95% of the visitors.

Google photos - click on a pic to enlarge, then use right/left arrows to scroll:
