It is an Aggie Band drum major's mace the Football Team asked the Band to give them to provide the football players with sideline motivation this season. The intent was that any Aggie football player who makes a good play on the field would come over to the sidelines after the score or defensive stop to use the mace to "strike up the band" and celebrate with his fellow players on the sidelines.
