I seem to recall in 06 or 07, McGee ran the ball against Nebraska something like 35 times. Even Fran knew to keep going with what was working.

The moment passes were being called in the 3rd quarter, Sumlin should have vetoed everyone of them. Mazzone should have been in the face of Mond to make sure he does two things: 1) watch the play clock and 2) hand it off to the right person. That's it. Take the pressure off of reading defenses or thinking about scrambling or god forbid - taking sacks.

This was such a simple W it's laughable we allowed them to come back.

Don't have a problem with the pimp stick. If we keep rushing for 200+ in a half, we should have a real pimp deliver it to the sideline.

Seems to be a couple of people in this thread with pimp sticks in their asses.

I commented yesterday in my postgame rage that it was a reflection of a culture problem, but I assumed it was a singular act and not something that any of the players can be rewarded with for exceptional performance. I'm okay with it as long as they are playing well. If they're still losing probably not. I hope Tray and others made sure to give the o-line love because they were clearing the way.

Sumlin needs to be canned and we got some systematic issues in this program, but some of guys are dumb, really really dumb.

Some of y'all are so stupid. Trayveon explained it today. Drum major baton brought by the new S&C coach (who came from Bama, right? Right?), and the phrase he used was "strike up the band". But yeah, that's so much worse than a ball-out belt or an axe as Bama now uses.

Maybe if it were a white player y'all wouldn't have jumped to the "pimp cane" conclusion?

Had we maintained the wide margin of victory, or hell, just held on an actually won, few would care and we all know it.

Winning.

It really cures everything.

i think i could get used to props: next time we do this to a team in first half, we give Sumlin and Mazzone handcuffs and their own post to fasten them to, and duct tape to wear over their mouths, well away from the sidelines.

I should know this but we also have that trash can where players throw balls in after a pick.....now a pimp stick. I went to A&M in the 90s and it seems the props are the new things today. Like you guys said, get those props out when deserved.

One observation is that Sumlin is a very likable guy. He may not win games but he makes it really cool to be an Aggie even when we keep getting owned. The A&M bandwagon hasn't seemed to diminish in the local high schools even when we lose. Folks these days only care about STYLE and not win/loss record....

If you can't win in the SEC, have style....

Ask Alabama about their "ball out belt", a WWE-style wresting belt given to a defensive player who make an astounding play. Guess Saban agrees with you that this is just a gimmick. They don't have much discipline on that team, right?

Jack Cheese is correct. NO self respecting Aggie Band DM would EVER let his baton go to anyone for ANY reason before/during/after a game. The term 'mace' is new and not something I remember from my era. This little piece of drama is not on the FTAB.

The new S&C coach thought this would be funny. Didn't work out that way. Kinda like the game.

I was at the game and watched someone, who looked like a coach, make a fool out of himself running around with that baton during the game. Maybe if he was more focused on the game we wouldn't have laid an egg! Sumlin has brought only distraction and subpar performance. Swag time is over!! We need a coach that will focus on lining up in maroon & white and playing some solid football!!

He deserved to have that swag. The kid was having a game that would've likely put him in the conversation for the Heisman. But the coaches let him down by throwing (literally) the game away.

This team deserves some discipline, so the whole team can be successful and not just one player!

I was thinking the same thing. I like the excitement and celebration. They should be rewarded for big plays so long as celebration is done on sideline and not taunting the other team.

I hope to see more of this weekend.
