I drove through before sunrise this morning and got to see the fire burning around Burbank. Worked fires in the Black Hills and I will be surprised it that one is contained by tomorrow. On the other hand there are a lot more resources here than we had in the middle of nowhere. Really hoping that smoke doesn't ruin the experience, not to mention I think we can all agree that enough people have lost homes this week.

Any updates how this might effect the game. Apparently 210 is closed. The fire is spreading only 10% contained.

That's normal life in the fall in socal. There are fires all over the state every year especially when the Santa Anas really get going, worst always seemed in October. I've driven on freeways down there with a fire literally 10 feet from a lane of traffic. A short time later the freeway was closed after the fire jumped to the other side. But strangely enough it's usually a pretty minimal and short lived impact on most of the population.

The game will be fine with minimal impact.

I think there are some plants In the SoCal area that have coped to fire and even help it germinate and spread to keep the species alive.

So what do humans do? They settle that area then complain about the fires. Makes sense.

Whole west coast is burning...that time of year plus been dry after huge spring rains. We'll get our rains here in a few weeks and it'll be fine. For now enjoy the blazing

Next rains for California aren't for at least 3-4 months.

Yeah my nieces house is in the path of the fire. They are packing emergency bags. Had bad fires out there this time last year as well.

FYI "Due to fires in the Burbank and Glendale area, it has been brought to our attention from the California Highway Patrol that the 210 Freeway West of the 2 Freeway in Glendale is likely to be closed."

Pray for safety and minimal property damage because fire, no matter how commonplace, is serious business. Be safe, Californians.

Yeah. Luckily we're coming from the east. Keeping a close eye on Waze app to monitor travel time from our current locale.

Bizarrely, (luckily for citizens of Burbank?), rain is a slight possibility:
