I have philosophical issues with Adidas, but those come with working with them over the course of 25 years or so, but in terms of product my hat is off to them and they are a very "worldly" and easy company to deal with as compared to others.
Well they're German and Germans do customer service better than anyone.

I think I can sum up the Adidas-Nike debate thusly:

Nike supporters want Nike because it's the Cadillac of apparel: it's flashy and has a huge brand name, but has flaws in the design.

Adidas supporters realize that it's a lot like Lincoln: quite well made and unique in their approach to design, but not as big a brand name, with the reputation of being stodgy or uncool.

But then the opinions apparently reverse if you're a millennial. Since most of us on here are getting long in the tooth, it feels like Adidas is getting blasted every time the discussion comes up.

Out of the 3 brands being discussed on this thread only Adidas has a minute small amount of owned manufacturing. Nike has none and UA has some deal for show they opened in Baltimore. All of these companies basically use the same vendors which use the same fabric suppliers, which use the same yarn vendors or make their yarn the way it is made everywhere else.

Those same fabrics go into like garments that are private labeled for Walmart, *****, Etc. The second tier suppliers of athletic wear such as Russell, Champion/Hanes, Rawlings, etc use the same fabrics and vendors as well. They just dont command the large margins the big 3 do so the prices are lower.

Based on what I know, kinda like making hot dogs better not seen, I do not buy much if any name brand goods in athletic wear. One pays for the brand more than anything. That is why they spend kazillions putting their logos on NCAA and pro teams.

The big companies do quite a bit of research and some development, but the big dollars are spent on branding and marketing. It sure isn't on the actual product. When I see a polyester performance top with all the supposed bells and whistles retailing for like $60 I just cringe.

And if you had bought some about 4 years ago things would really be sweet, they suck real good.

olds...adidas is killing the game right now. I hated adidas...before they signed Yeezy and hired some of Nike's top designers a few years back. Nike is starting to build some momentum again to eat back into their lowered market share, but adidas is definitely squarely on the map now. What was a negative (IMHO) to recruiting when we first signed has come full circle and is a huge differentiator for us.

And yes, ultra boosts are the most comfy shoe in history.

No polos and khakis are Granimals for adults. Dress up or dress down "business casual" is for goof balls.
