This is stupid. Without knowing details I'm guessing every school in America gives this same report to the NCAA annually and except for Alabama Apparently it doesn't even make the radar screen. "Putting a trophy in an area visited by recruits"? Seriously?????

Pretty run of the mill annual report.

There are so many dumb NCAA rules it's impossible to follow them all. Most schools end up self reporting 10-20 minor violations each year. They're handled by the school's compliance office, and reported to the NCAA as a formality. No big deal.

They only have so much space... The trophies have to go somewhere.

Texas Tech is jealous of Bama's trophy violation.

Violations reported vs. men's basketball, gymnastics, soccer, director of CTP, women's golf, and rowing...

Most likely a smokescreen for what's really going on within the football program!

Be afraid....Be very Afraid.....Troy or Alabama State are going on probation.
The person that is not willing to fight and die, if need be, for his country has no right to life.

Every football camp and recruit at tu walks past 4 National Championship trophies from the time they check in at Moncrief until they depart (meetings, vending machine, restroom, ...doesn't matter, they walk past them).

How is this for idiotic? Example: An Aggie grad (I am am one) receives a high school graduation invitation (I did) . The young man or woman was already accepted by A&M and would a few days after graduation enroll and be on one of the athletic teams. Done deal! Giving a standard graduation gift of a few bucks to that high school grad would violate NCAA rules. But the grad could have been a guest in my home for a meal. I know this from first-hand experience from a few years ago. I'm not making this up--the "case" went all the way up through A&M compliance to NCAA. But if the high school grad were going to another university there would be no limits on the gife ($50,000; new car, whatever) even by an Aggie grad who had become a booster of the U which the high school grad would be attending on athletic scholarship. (I know, pretty wild thought--just throwing out a "for example" of application of rules.) Never mind that no doubt-as a matter of common custom and courtesy-this rule is inadvertently violated or intentionally ignored thousands of times every year across the nation. The matter crossed my mind only because I had read compliance notices in 12th Man mag. Got a little curious and checked it out, if for no other reason than to satisfy curiosity. (I did not expect the answer that I got.) Some may wonder why anyone would bother to even think that a standard gift to any high school grad/friend would violate an NCAA rule. It crossed my mind, I had too much time on my hands and checked it out. Perhaps the rule has been changed.

F-250's are not even investigated. But you better not buy a kid a Whataburger.

Well Whataburger IS pretty damn tasty.

If the NCAA has rules on decorating then you pretty much know they're worthless outfit

That's IT. You found the loophole for the non-grad tu fans buying the F250s. This lets just about their entire fanbase, Red McCombs, Ketch, Chimp, etc off the hook.

Aren't trophies supposed to be seen? The NCAA is so freaking worthless.

Next thing we will find out is that it is a violation if a recruit sees you play on TV.

Alabama should just hide all of their trophies and make no mention of any championships. The prospective recruits won't know any better.

If you are Catholic you know the drill. You have to go to confession regularly so you keep a stockpile of "not honoring your father or mother" or "taking the Lord's name in vain" on hand to run through the hopper. The person with nothing to confess is more suspicious than the one who does the public mea culpa over trivialities.

Wow, we sure are sucking up to Alabama!! Three weeks ago they had players caught in a rented car, with guns and drugs...no questions asked , charges dropped, and now this? ....and we just let it fly??? Damn, we're letting them do what Texas did to us in the 12........

aftermath,

Aggies don't need to suck up.

Let's talk after Saban retires. We got lucky with Saban after the three Mikes(Dubose, Price and Shula)

Texas A&M is already a success.

(1.) you are out of the Big 12,

(2.) you are controlling your destiny,

(3.) look at the athletic year you had, a great foundation.

When Saban goes, and he will, I fully expect the Aggies to be an SEC dominant program across the board.

We'll just have memories.

Well , RollTide......Our fellow SEC west guys Ole Miss got an 8 game suspension and NCAA investigation for a kid getting a rental car paid for........2 Bama players in a rented car, drugs, cash, illegal guns......no consequence???.....you would think that someone would at least ask where the car came from....Maybe the NCAA should treat everyone the same, maybe they need to be pressed on the issue. Drugs are an NCAA Violation.
