That sounds like probably every d1 coach.

I live in Alabama. Some of my clients played for Alabama. To them, we are irrelevant, just another Mississippi State. If there is only one game we win, please beat Alabama! I used to want to beat LSU more than anyone, just because they are the only SEC team we have not beat. But I would rather beat Alabama now, because in their minds we are now a non-factor. A QB dumpster fire since Johnny left. LSU fans care about other sports like basketball and baseball, and our recent wins in those sports gives us some street cred in their eyes. But Alabama fans do not care about any other sport than football. We can beat them like a drum in every other sport every single year and we would still be completely irrelevant because we didn't win in football.

So please, Coach Sumlin and Football Team, beat Alabama!

By the way, CoachLB, I appreciate your posts and I feel like things will be much better this year. I think this team's biggest challenge will be consistency throughout the year. We've always had the pieces to do great things, but we've been very inconsistent since Johnny left.

Aggie Joe - Coaching useless and unproductive? I get calls from young men I have coached in the past just to tell me that I was a positive influence on their lives. I have former players come up to me every day and hug me and treat me like I was their Father. I know many, many coaches who have helped get and keep kids on a positive road in their lives. You may not like our football decisions, but don't question that there are many coaches out there that care about and love the kids they coach and it is more than just football they care about! Billy Graham said a coach influences more young men in a year than most people do in a lifetime. Are there coaches who are bad people out there, yes. But there are many more that are in it for the kids. There are bad people who are lawyers, doctors, ministers, all walks of life. Even in your line of work I am sure there are useless and unproductive people!

DayAg - Thanks! I really try to just think of the people who want to hear football news when I post. And there is nothing wrong with disagreeing with me. But it is the guys who never do anything on here but moan and bellyache about anything anybody brings to the table that will drive people away from this forum. But not me. See as a coach you hear it all. Old Coaches saying. "In Texas everybody can Bar-B-Q and coach." But your post was dead on!

And LAT. I for some reason like you. You are so full of it that it is easy to see you are just messing with people!

In my current job, they won't name the systems and philosophies I invent after me They wont erect any large, misplaced statues of me outside mega stadiums. My former reports never hug me, and I will get fired for head slap. So, yeah coaching has its upside...

Thank you, tango Mike, for doing all you do to eliminate starvation in Africa. No doubt it's so much more difficult while sitting on that high horse.

Coach, I appreciate your updates. The sliver of what we see is sometimes pretty limited and I really enjoy when someone can expand the view for us.

Not to doubt you Coach, since you are legit, but do you have proof of coaching at the Cougar High camp?

What we are looking for are pics of Herman's wife. Preferably showing as much cleavage and leg as possible.

I'm not sure how we can be better at corner this year, but I do think all the rest will be better on D. The x factor for me is the OL. I have to believe they will be better, but I won't until I see it.
