I have it on good authority that his dad is down to earth and laid back despite the 5 NBA title rings, although I've never met him personally.

I'm extremely encouraged by the young man's comments on his commitment regarding the Aggie Network as a huge deciding factor- which would not be the sentiment of a kid with a helicopter dad - he understands there is a lot of life after football.

Seems his dad has taught his son how the world really works and how professional sports can be feast or famine.

As a graduate of Taylor in 1996 myself, I'm very happy for the Horry family.

I was at G. Rollie the first time I saw Robert Horry. Alabama came to play the Aggies here. I remember only one play in the game, we were losing pretty bad and one of our guards came up with a steal between the top of the arc and halfcourt going full speed towards our basket, easy break away lay up...when out of nowhere, SWAT! This long skinny Alabama player comes out of and knocks his shot into the stands. All the A&M crowd (probably all 50 of us) go "OOOOHHHHHHHH"....it was Horry.

I like seeing all the Yessirs recently, good to get the bad issues from the end of last year behind us. Can't wait for the season and hope we keep these recruits.

I sat with Robert Horry for a bit in the Vegas airport on that tram betweeen terminals. He was out there for NBA summer league. There was this horrific L.A. Lakers D-Bag guy hounding him . .telling him he knew "D-Fish" and others. I was wearing a Cowboys cap so he shifted the conversation.

It was a pretty remarkable talk. He commented on the lack of financial literacy of athletes. How he kept his him in primary residence in Houston after leaving partly to avoid California State income taxes. He lamented about agents and their absurd cost. He was helping the NBA mentor younger athletes who stupidly hired the Master Ps of the world.

He definitely seemed sharp and down to earth in my one interaction.

I was at that game, randy. I remember Horry didn't do much in the first half and we had the lead going into halftime. Horry came out in the second half and lit it up. He couldn't miss. I think Bama ended up winning by 16.

I mentioned Camron's A & M commitment to my Univ of Alabama co worker. He said Robert Horry was known as "Big Shot Bob" during his playing days at Alabama. Maybe Camron will earn a similar nickname of " Big Catch Cam "

They are being recruited as two different types of TEs. McZeal will be primarily a receiver while Horry will be primarily a blocker. Think of Porter and Carringer during RC's last season.

We have a real OC now, as opposed to a kid training to be an OC. Mazzone will be able to utilize both of these studs.
