I have a theory (not really based on any facts) that these 4 main donors are pivotal for Baylor to be able buy-out Briles' existing contract. This ain't Pepper Hamilton's first rodeo, they knew how to handle keeping as much as possible in-house and within their sole control to be able preserve and assert attorney-client privilege and work-product exceptions to discovery.

Flip side to that is Pepper Hamilton's expectation that the lawsuits will be bad and numerous and took and abundance of caution as a result..

No way, I'd totally be opposed to Briles ever coming here in any fashion. There are just too many things more important than winning football games and having a coach that accepted rape, molestation of little boys, encouraged steroids, or any other immoral position has no business being here. I don't care if it's Briles, JoePa reincarnated or any other coach that fit any of those descriptions. Some things are absolute deal breakers to me.

That's the strange part about this. I just don't get it. Even if I could dream up the most far fetched scenario where Briles is 100% innocent of wrongdoing, I simply cannot imagine a scenario where you would keep him.

And am I the only Aggie who would be willing to see our football program go into the crapper if the same exact thing were going on with our program today? I know it's easy to think of a what if scenario (which I simply can't imagine really happening in the first place) and say I would want to do the right thing. But being an Aggie, doing the right thing, and not giving a damn about football over a situation like this seems to be a no brainer.

The leap of logic required to make this stupid and poorly reasoned post is quite amazing. Because a school would fire a mediocre and under-performing HC, that does not automatically mean they would hire a winning coach, forever tarnished by his role in covering up multiple rapes by multiple players.

Sherman was a good guy and a poor HC. Briles is a very good HC and a POS. Those things really have nothing to do with each other.

Briles couldn't even do that himself in the Big 12, why would he be able to do that in a tougher conference that actually plays defense?

Briles couldn't even get into the playoff in the Big 12. I would not support him coming to A&M and would actually question what A&M is about if they hired him.
