Not sure why all the hate. A&M clearly backed off and that was the reason for him decommitting. Sounds like he wanted to be an Aggie. Do I like the comment he made about one of our QBs? No. He's a kid. Wish him the best and move on.

The hate still stems from the way he went about the issue. Don't tweet out "I'm 100% an Aggie and support Coach Sumlin!!" just after the guy that recruited you gets fired...knowing that you have second thought of going to a school that he isn't coaching at.

I'm looking forward to seeing Nick Starkel show us what he can do... never a fan of drama boy...

The point is that Martell didn't fit the profile of what our new OC was looking for in a QB. I'd bet Mazzone cleared it with Sumlin and backed off talking with Tate and his Father (just like Tate's Dad has been publically quoted). A&M wasn't going to "decommit Tate", instead Tate saw the writing on the wall and decommitted. Win/Win. Best of luck to Tate at OSU (or wherever he ends up).

This. Think I read when he came down with his father (on his own dime) to visit shortly after the new OC was hired Mazonne didn't even speak to them. It was quite obvious -

I'm not sure why the hate for Tate. He is a great hs qb and I think will be a good college qb as well. It's apparent GM didn't think he was a good fit for his offense and ignored him rather than pulling offer, which would have been the right thing. Quit blaming the kid, outside of being arrogant he did nothing wrong. Let it go!

Let's move on from Tate Martel. Doubt he plays much at OSU. Predict he ends up in PAC 10 when all said and done...working with Spav if Spav is still at Cali!!
