Pearland quarterback Connor Blumrick commits to Texas A&M
Tuesday the Aggies extended an offer to Pearland (Texas) quarterback Connor Blumrick, and he quickly knew A&M was among his favorites.
Friday evening, Blumrick decided he was ready to make the call, choosing the Aggies over Ole Miss, UCF, and Memphis.
Blumrick is the first quarterback in Texas A&M’s 2017 recruiting class and the seventh member of the class. Now, he's excited to get out to Aggieland and hit the ground running.
"I'm ready to get out there and compete, and work hard and just play the game," Blumrick said.

"Well, me and my family have been talking the past few nights, and really sat down and went over everything and tried to figure out what was best for me and my family," Blumrick said. "And A&M is a great place to be. It's close to home. It's a great coaching staff. I mean, you can't really go wrong with it. It's just awesome."
Blumrick, who stands in at 6-foot-6 and 205 pounds, has drawn the attention of college coaches this spring with strong performances at the Opening Regionals and at the Rivals Camp Series, as well as Pearland’s spring practices.
His performance is more than camp related though. He had a highly productive junior season in 2015 as he threw for 1,478 yards and 13 touchdowns while completing 106 of 176 passes. He earned first-team all-district honors for his efforts and helped guide Pearland to an undefeated regular season.

Former Aggie QB Jerrod Johnson had this to say about the towering quarterback earlier today on TexAgs Radio: "He’s a physical specimen. He’s about 6-6 and 210 pounds. He ran about 4.7 at The Opening. He jumped over 30 inches on his vertical. He had one of the fastest shuttles there out of all positions. He’s kind of a freak of nature. For me, seeing that skillset and watching how he’s progressed throwing the football – for me, I see that skillset, and I’m like, ‘Look, if you get the right situation, you could take this quarterback thing a long way...Every time he walks into a room, people are like, ‘Why didn’t we know about this kid?’ He’s kind of late to the party because he started one year as a junior, but the sky is the limit for his potential."
