You can't say it was all for naught. During that time, we joined the SEC, we had a Heisman winner, and we made a massive upgrade to Kyle Field. But no NC; not even division champions.

As bad as things are now, I don't think anything will be worse than the Fran era.

Those were some hard times.

There's no comparison. Fran was the worst, a disciplinarian that had the entire team in factions. Oh and he couldn't recruit. Set the program back 5-10 years.
