But regardless if a player actually says "things could change" or not, the fact still remains that things always could change. Just because the word "commitment" is used in the recruiting world doesn't mean that it has the same definition as "commitment" in other contexts. A commitment in recruiting just means that one particular school is currently their top pick and they want to claim one of the spots that school has available before they're all gone.

Actually safety is potentially even scarier in a couple of years. People need to stop looking at what we have now when it comes to recruiting and project 2-3 years from now. Safety is a major need and concern in this class.

This is a big pick up. As for him saying things could change? Well what if Sumlin is fired? What if Terry Joseph leaves? You never know. I don't blame a kid for looking out for themselves first and foremost. They absolutely should. On the other hand, a school should always have back up and contingency plans.

Sumlin has signed about 80-85% of guys who have committed to him over the past 4-5 years. We have signed only a handful of surprises on signing day that never actually committed to us. People always say it doesn't matter, but it does. It's no guarantee, but him committing to us now gives us a better chance to sign him than if he didn't commit at all.

Dang feb got here quick. Totally missed thanksgiving, Christmas, & new years.

'Things could change' = waiting for the sips to up the ante.

I guess an F-250 just won't do this year.

Last week A&M wasn't in his top 3 and Texas was. Amazing how some people change their mind on a recruit depending on where they project they'll sign...

Regardless, whether he'll qualify (and stay out of trouble) is still a huge question.

I tweeted at Jeremy Crabtree about his commitment and will continue to do so for every 4 or 5 star we get. His article saying our recruiting was basically dead in the water and losing major momentum to sips was crap.
