Lodge would have been huge for us too.... I think he had one reception for twelve yards last year for Ole Miss. Com'on Coach Sumlin..."What were you thinkin?"

* not being able to recruit a stable of linebackers to save his @ss

* terrible hiring blunders like bringing anderson over, hiring christiansen, and not only promoting spav but rolling with him long enough to do serious damage to the program.

* screwing the qb pipeline up to high holy hell

* and in spite of having the calling card as an offensive genius, fielding the crap we all endured the last two years.

As long as you targeted your last sentence toward the two failed divas, I agree. The rest of the guys (there could have been a few exceptions; I'm in no inside position to know, but I doubt it) went as hard as they could go with what they had for as long as they could. Guys like Tra Carson gave it all they had, and there were many Tra Carsons.

I take heart in the belief that though Tra Carson won't be back, lots of Tra Carsons will.

I agreed with your last sentence, but I loved your second-to-last. If a result of all this off-season turmoil is an increased mental toughness, the lining of the cloud intermittently hanging over Aggieland could be gold rather than silver.
