Get used to hearing it, because as of this morning, this has become our "we didn't offer" excuse for losing recruits.

"Lost another one? Well, he was soft."

"He decommitted? What a weak SJW. We didn't want him anyway"

"Flipped to LSU? He was only 5' 10.5". 5' 11" or nothin' for us!"

I wish no ill will towards Tate. Same was true for Kyle or Kyler.
Probably was easier for people in the cases of Matt D, Kenny, Matt J, and Jameill. Different situations.
I thought at the time that losing Kyle wasn't good. But maybe it was for the best. I wasn't bothered by Kyler leaving. Timing wasn't the greatest though. Wasn't sold. Definitely not sour grapes, but would liked to have seen someone other than Tate anyway.

It would be one thing to act like that if we were actually competing for trophies. We don't know how to recruit like a top sec west school without a Heisman qb on our team.
I have little patience for posts like this. It's not that we "don't know how to recruit like a top sec west school," it's that winning breeds better recruiting, and we won more with a Heisman QB on our team.

NEWSFLASH:

Our best record was posted by a team that played most of their college careers in the big 12 with a 5'11" QB.
Preach.

Thank you.

Wrong...the team with our best record was led and posted by 1 of a kind, best QB to ever step foot in Aggieland...no more shorties for QB please...

I tend to agree this is a good thing. Think about those two years with Johnny. He was the GOAT but was still limited by injuries because he just wasn't sturdy enough to take the pounding. Tate was even smaller. I'll take a 3 or 4 star QB who is 6'2 220 all day. And we'll find one.

When you start saying "We don't need them!" to every single player, you need to re-examine the situation. Some of y'all lack the ability to look at the big picture.

When every 4* or 5* that commits to us is an entitled millennial, you need to consider that the problem lies elsewhere.

Moorehead just hurt recruiting, regardless of whether what he said was true or not. We don't exactly need help damaging the reputation of this place.

This is the truth.

Less concerned with losing Martel than I am how the programme is being perceived after the losses of KM and KA, last season's collapse, and JFF's non-stop nonsense. This latest poorly-handled circumstance just adds to the appearance of a dumpster fire.

That DOES hurt us and may for a long time.

Lets cut the bull**** and be honest about something:

A&M was recruiting this kid, wanted this kid, and if he was "loyal to Texas A&M", would you or anyone else be saying this stuff?

In the majority of cases, I doubt his height would seem to be a problem---he'd just be a hardworking kid that's tough as nails that can be the next Russell Wilson.

Really? Because it sounds like millennial melodramatic crap to me... over simplifying the facts to fit your agenda.

EVERY recruit is not the problem. A&M has had plenty of highly rated recruits come through without entitlement issues and excessive attention whoring...

In fact, most of the actual problems have been recruits that Spav was directly involved with. Maybe placating to their egos and feelings will land you a few extra recruits... but what's the point if they can't handle adversity on the field/on campus once they are here.

We had amazing offensive talent.

Johnny helped but I guarantee you that Hill, Allen, maybe even Murray would have put up video game numbers in that system. OLine was on a different level and throwing to Evans surely helped.

If you have had the opportunity to interact with Moorehead in a relaxed, social setting, you quickly realize that he knows football thoroughly but has difficulty communicating clearly and projecting an impressive level of intellect. Maybe in the coaching world having been a successful NFL player overshadows some rather glaring shortcomings. IMO, his impish behavior on twitter will stick to him for a long time.

Yea, moving from NC State to a legitimate p5 school after graduating puts him on these kids level.

How he handled his divorce...

How his biggest news on twitter has been him complaining about Seattle not having an NBA team...

And How he handles himself on the field especially.

Totally the same person, I stand corrected.

Yes, but he played behind one of the best OLs in CFB history. 3 1st round draft picks, a 5th round draft pick, and UDFA Patrick Lewis (who would have been drafted in the first 3-4 rounds if he'd been an inch or two taller). Whenever Johnny looked like a fish back there and took way too long to go through his reads, it didn't matter because his line might as well have been a brick ****ter.

Tate is 5'10 + probably 180-190, is hellbent on playing as a fish, and we're rebuilding our OL. That's not a recipe for success in the SEC.

Still sounds to me like Wilson bolted for his own personal gain at NC State's expense.

Plus, recall that Wilson left NC State late in the spring, well after signing day and limiting NC State's ability to fill the gap when their starting QB left, I repeat, for his own personal gain.

Are we drawing a hard line on loyalty or are you hair making up different definitions of loyalty that suit you at the time?

How millennial of you!

You've diverted from addressing Coach Moorehead's leaving Virginia Tech in a lateral move, as well.

You've diverted from addressing Coach Moorehead's recruiting of kids that have been or currently are committed to other schools.

Again, you seem to be redefining "loyalty" from case to case so it fits your larger narrative that Tate Martel and others are little beetches for not coming to Texas A&M.

Nc state had glennon (yes, the one that played at the bucs) waiting, hardly left them high and dry... Wilson also had issues with the HC pertaining to issues regarding baseball.

Moorehead is an employee who is paid to perform a job.... and you can hardly blame him for taking a huge career advancement by moving to a&m. Also there is no evidence to support he told VT he was going to stay, and then eventually change his mind... the fact that I even have to bring all of this up is ridiculous. Either you're an idiot and not worth talking too, are your grasping at straws to try and make a weak point.

Seriously though, you're trying way to hard and I'm bored of this... most the cliff jumpers have backed off the cliff or took the plunge... you should do the same.
TXAggie2011
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Sigh.

You continue to redefine "loyalty" as you go along.

Look, I don't care if this coach goes here or this player goes there. But if you're going to rationalize other's leaving one place for another to do what is best for them...then you have to be willing to do that for everyone.

That includes recruits who just told A&M 9 months ahead of signing day that they weren't committed to A&M.

To do otherwise is just hypocritical. So, get over the fact that every athlete in the county is not going to believe A&M is the best place for them and drop the temper tantrum you've been throwing the last 24 hours. There isn't anything wrong with any of them if they decide A&M isn't best for them.

If anyone sounds like a whiny kid, it's been you and the rest that lost their ****e over recruits telling A&M 9 months ahead of signing day that they weren't commuted to A&M. It just comes across as the self-centered children you're complaining about.

If you want to fake that you're platonic about these recruits, keep trying, but you're not fooling anyone.
TXAggie2011
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Are you ever going to address Aaron Moorhead and the A&M staff's recruiting of kids that have committed elsewhere?

Or have you not the creativity to rationalize that, as well?
