Could Paul Manziel get adult conservatorship over Johnny until he gets his life straightened out? Would Texas law support this using Britney Spears as an example?

Maybe Mom would be a better choice here.

Yes, in my opinion Paul is one of the main reasons that Johnny is like he is, he has hero worshipped Johnny all these years instead of being his dad.

Yeah, actually Paul (Pablo by some of his friends) really never held Johnny accountable for his actions and allowed Johnny to place academics and integrity low on priorities while placing football and athletics first.

Truth be told, Paul worked it at times to make sure Johnny wasn't a victim of House Bill 72, because Johnny's sports came first over academics.

It's a shame but he did live vicariously through Johnny and allowed him to drink and party at such early ages.

No doubt he loves Johnny but this is where cause and effect eventually catch up.

I hate to say it but if Johnny actually hits rock bottom and loses everything, I wouldn't be surprised if he takes the easy way and checks out. This is why it is important to support Johnny. If not us, who?

I can give her a little support.

So many Johnny posts that I just picked the one closest to the top. Not sure if this has been posted yet, but you had to know that Randy would weigh in over on the shag. The comment to his post is the best thing Ive seen over there in a long time.

In some ways I feel for the guy.

$#@!ed up, dysfunctional parents who didn't have the capacity to guide him through adolescence. As a result, he ended up with a juvenile arrest record that left him with few options other than to go to ****. When he was there, he had the misfortune to have a functional alcoholic as his coach and no one to mentor him when he was screaming for help. After his 2012 arrest when out-patient substance abuse counseling was mandated, he was surrounded with jock sniffers like Liucci who convinced him it was more fun to go out boozing than to put in the work he needed to deal with his weaknesses. He ends up winning the Heisman, which just made him more unaccountable for his actions.

When the autograph scandal broke and he needed a mentor to finally hold him accountable and help him, every adult around him was too busy cashing in, either extended their contract; raising funds for a mega-white trash stadium; or selling premium subscriptions for their **** website; to be there for him. If there ever was a time someone from the "**** network" needed to step in and help Johnny, it was after he won the Heisman. But there wasn't enough"**** network" to help Johnny when he really needed it.

He was failed by every adult that he depended on until he finally got into the NFL. And even in a culture that tolerates all the NFL tolerates, he got kicked out after two years.

And now he is left to deal with his demons alone.

"Once an ****, always an ****."

Except for Johnny Manziel, who will continue in his downward spiral in life, because no **** will finally help him deal with his long list pr problems and help him get the therapy and help he so badly needs. But, in twenty years, the ****s will fabricate another fraudulent story, much as they did with their fraudulent "12th Man" story and rewrite the Johnny Manziel story. They will use yet another fraudulent **** "terdition" to raise money from the gullible rubes. It's what they do.

Johnny will continue in is downward spiral. ****s will do what they need to do to finance their half-billion dollar trailer home of a stadium.

Maybe Jordan Spieth will ask Johnny to caddy for him.

No, that won't happen. Spieth is a professional athlete. Just like LeBron and Johnny's former agent, professionals will, one by one, cut their ties with the **** character risk with the restraining orders; the substance abuse problem; and the inability to deal with it all.

"Once an ****, always an ****." When does that start to apply?

Sadly, when Johnny Manziel needs the most help, the ****s have conveniently run out of "**** network."

Tony Buzbee, this is directed straight at you."

Speaking of someone that needs help.

You know, 98% of that is completely delusion mixed with bull****, but he does have a point about the aggie network running out in him when he needs it most.

Johnny is turning into the sports equivalent of that Brittany Spears South Park episode. May our next harvest be bountiful.

Kind of hard for the Aggie network to have competed with LeBron, Drake, and music moguls for Johnny's attention after he won the Heisman. Even Sumlin was star-struck with the fame and celebrity of the people flocking to Johnny.

It was a s***storm for a kid who was immature for his age to begin with.

Yeah, there are a lot of angry fans on here blasting JFF and his behavior, but I'd bet that 98% of us would jump at the chance to get him the help he needs. Unfortunately we don't travel in the same circle or have access to him.

Some former team mates (Aggies or Browns) need to sit him down for a serious "talk."

This. As middle-class Aggies with no special connection to either the Manziel family or specialists in situations such as Johnny's, what are we supposed to do?

Went by his grandparents restaurant when we were in Tyler, told them we are praying for him. Sent him a card care of the Browns when he was in rehab.

We can't exactly force him to get his life straight.

You're correct howdy, we can't force him to do anything. I was responding to the earlier statement that the Aggie Network wouldn't support him.

You tried (good for you!), and most of the rest of us would if we had the opportunity. I assume that there are hundreds of Ags across the country who have access to professionals who would help if asked.

It is pretty clear that there are some psychiatric issues involved here that are compounded by the use of alcohol. and perhaps drugs. One of the problems is that once a person becomes an adult family members gaining enough control to have a person admitted to a facility requires court orders, and those are very difficult in today's atmosphere of patient rights. It often takes an event so serious as to essentially ruin the life of the person you are trying to save.

That is what happened with Thomas Johnson. It was clear from his first disappearance following the TAMU vs. Alabama game that he had a mental disorder, likely schizophrenia, and that major help was needed. But counselors and his mother were unable to navigate the system. Evidently, no mentor stepped in to help. Ultimately, his psychiatric delusions came to a head and he killed the jogger at White Rock Lake. His life is over.

It is truly essential that Johnny's parents take every legal measure to have him committed, involuntarily if necessary, to a psychiatric facility to help him gain control of his life, or his career and life will end tragically.
