Um.. that would be negative. Because ESPN can afford A&M to be mediocre and still make money on the SEC network. Not so much with the LHN and tu stinking it up the last few years. No eyeballs, no advertising. It's a joke. But it's their joke, so they pump it as much as they can. And A&M is what's standing in the sips way more than anything right now.

Why would they have a vested interest in keeping A&M down? We don't even play them. They are more worried about OU, TCU, and Baylor.

This thread implies that you care what ESPN thinks, otherwise it wouldn't matter. ESPN knows about 1/10th of anything actually going on at a school and report on the situation like they make the news. ESPN dominates the market and controls the flow of information. I was not happy with our winter situation, but two guys left who didn't want to be here and we upgraded at OC. We could have made a better hire and it would have been great if Allen and Murray wanted to stay, but only ESPN could make it sound like the College Station sky is falling.

While there is some validity in placing blame in some other directions. All those factors combined aren't equal to the problem we have at the HC position.

Something my dad told me a long time ago. When having problems with anything in life look inward for the solution not outward for the blame.

We're part of the SEC and they're paying an awful lot for the SEC Network too. They've got so many conflicts of interest that they can all basically be ignored.

The idea that they are going to dog us and pump up the longhorns because of the LHN is laughable. They've had no problems smearing Charlie in the past.

They need us to get our act together as well. Media will go full on smear against Sumlin until he is gone.

Anyone with a brain knows that our football team has been a circus since the fall. First, LSU is on death's door and we can't finish them off. Second, TWO marquee playes in our program leave. Three, Spav isn't fired until after the bowl game. And four: the clown show about the is he/isn't he staying BS.

All of this goes without mention of the failed leadership on the part of Sumlin.
