Reported that he was silently recruiting for Texas on his visit here. I guess now the trolls saying he was a lock here can disappear
quote:agree... lets not base this class on a few indecisive recruits. Rather, lets look to the ones that looked at their options, made a decision and stuck with it like grown-ups do.
Lol bro, while I agree Sumlin did hurt himself and this recruiting class with the quarterback instability and not clearing the air publicly, we are far from a bad class. We have some exceptional talent coming in, literally multiple players that not a single Texas recruit can be held in the same breath as. The safer bet is on Special Needs Charlie being gone after next year, not Sumlin.

Maybe this is all an elaborate plot to make it look like he is a slam dunk for the sips. He could be the silent commit and surprise everyone on signing day.
One can hope.
quote:Seriously Clark? The same thing was said about Cuffee and he is now a solid commit to the sips. JM will commit to them as well. This seriously sucks. We can bury our heads in the sand all we want, but those *******s WILL finish with a higher rated class than ours. Book it.

quote:Dude, Mack did the same thing for us last year. Quit playing the victim card. It only makes us look desperate.
Charlie had recruits doing this last year, as well, no?
What can you do to address this?
Players you think lean to Charlie, schedule him with only very solid commits or few others?
What if SEC schools back off players or pull offers from those who have OVs to Charlie?
Send the message that Charlie is tainted. If you OV with him, then we'll back off.
I get players actively recruiting others... but if you are a silent commit, you shouldn't be recruiting others on OVs to another school. If you have announced a commit to a school and still take OVs or UOVs, then the hosting school at least knows they have a loyalty and the risk to bring them in.
I know many recruits remain silent and there are many reasons to do so. One reason I've heard is to draw coaches to their school. Say you are a QB who has a silent commit to a School A. The QB will have coaches coming to his school to visit or to watch and there is an exposure other players on the team might get with those coaches. This may include current Srs or Jrs or Sophs.

Honestly, would anybody have a problem with this if Mack was recruiting for us while visiting Texas last year?
quote:Mack did not commit to us until NSD. Not saying he was a silent commit, but he DID visit Texas while uncommitted, and recruit for us. Your post could not be more wrong.
So Mack was a silent recruit for us and visited other schools under false pretenses?
I seem to recall him being very open and vocal about A&M. Nowhere close to the same thing.
quote:You know this how? Link of any sort? Don't remember this being a story at all. In Austin nonetheless, where there are plenty of BS stories...quote:Mack did not commit to us until NSD. Jesus we like playing the victim card, unless the shoe happens to be on the other foot. IT IS NO BIG DEAL.quote:You know this how? Link of any sort? Don't remember this being a story at all. quote:Born and bred. Like I said it happens ALL the time. Our recruits have done it as well, and good for them. We need all the help we can get in recruiting. Don't get so damn butthurt over the least little thing.quote:quote:You don't remember this being a story? It was a huge story on whorn sites last year. So what. This happens ALL the time. Who is we..? Are you an aggie? The fact 2 sip recruits were caught doing this a week apart is absolutely atrocious. I will gladly root against those disgusting excuses of "men".
