How many 1000 page threads about realignment are on TexAgs like on the shag? How many iterations of a conference realignment thread are on landthieves? WVU boards? Baylor? OSU? TCU?

A stable and united conference doesn't have members who obsess over getting out of it. A conference that has competent leadership can figure out rules to determine a conference champion, especially with a potential play-off spot on the line. Lagging in conference revenues, horrible OOC W/L record, bad bowl record, regional TV deal with mostly 11:00AM starts for the even the "brand teams" and not so great TV ratings.

There are plenty of reasons to call the Big XII a "dumpster fire".

See, this is what you can't seem to wrap your little troll head around. Baylor has one more three star than us and for them it's been unprecedented success on the field. tCu is recruiting below us. And they are (in your words) outperforming us.

You know why it's still close between us (middle of the pack SEC team) and them (top 3-4 teams in the dumpsterfire...? Because the dumpsterfire doesn't garner any relevant respect. It's a downgrade in perception the the SEC.

Regarding quarterbacks, belief is that this is Knights job to lose with Hubenak being a great guy to push him for the role. This is based on some off campus workouts that Knight has done with players. Guy can spin it and is ready to plug in.

No big news on new OC. Players have met guy but no real strategic stuff in place yet. Based on what has been communicated, Sumlin will be taking more of an active role. Probably means Mazzone as more chief of staff vs. play caller.

People feeling awfully good about Defense now that Chief system is familiar and D line will be salty with Miles, Hall, and Mack anchoring. Expect our identity to be wrecking crew vs. high scoring prolific offense. Limit turnovers on O and big plays on D. We have the personnel to line up with big boys.

I know there is a recruiting weekend but no real updates other than they feel good about the class. My buddy is not a host and I don't follow closely.

I seriously doubt Knight starts over Hubenak. Accuracy is markedly different between the two.

Staff be like:

Knight lost his starting job at OU due to injury I am pretty sure. He looked all world in the OU bowl victory over Bama. He was injured early in that season also, or would have had a really good overall year.

not necessarily... he had injury issues and a terrible Spav-like OC. Then he got beat out during the off season by the 5th place Heisman trophy finalist.

Seems I have pissed off people here. I think the main thing you should understand is that this is the OPINION of my friend who is seeing stuff up close and unfolding. I obviously don't know if Knight will be the starter, Sumlin more active play caller, or we have a true wrecking crew defense....that is for the coaching staff to decide and carry out.

Some folks who don't get this info probably really appreciate the updates. every player will have a different view of what is going on. Some will embrace the changes while some will fight.

Sumlin does not call plays and did not in the bowl game. I have a friend who was standing next to him. So you can scratch that.

We have a lot of qb's that can spin the ball and make all the throws when running 7/7 vs our defense. Once they put pads on and conference play starts, the real man will stand up. Same goes with wr's.

IMO, the season will be based on how well our OLine plays and how well they are coached. We should be better at almost all other positions.

The team will have strong leadership from within !
