I piloted this appetizer a few weeks ago. It's terribly messy and the seasoning's limited to the shell; the shrimp is bland after peeling.

Be careful of where the shrimp come from. Shrimp from Vietnam is raised on human feces which makes them awfully cheap.

+1 on avoiding Asian seafood farmed products with regards to animal waste as food, bacteria in ice packing, and outlawed antibiotics. Ask for wild caught if Asian sourced, or Gulf of Mexico where possible.
