Did he expect there to be a bigger market for his services? Does he regret his decision already, because he basically declined to be the starter at A&M to play at one of these crap schools? Whoever's advising him did him a disservice.
Your perspective is wrong. Kyle wants to go to the NFL. He realizes he doesn't have to get lit up by nearly every SEC defense to do so. Therefore he goes somewhere he can develop -- Sumlin/Spav sure as hell don't develop players -- and he knows it can be done at non-P5 schools.

Plenty of data supporting this. He did not come to A&M to win a natty, he hoped to get groomed for the NFL. LOL at him for thinking that would happen at A&M.

Is he a p ssy for transferring? Yes. But a smarter p ssy than most if the NFL is where he wants to end up.
Is there any other kind?

Looking forward to discussions about KA's decision to leave us to go to ... Coog High. What a joke.

Proof? News reports I read said UH outsold FSU (despite being much closer) and sold about 12k.

Why did KM get a P5 offer without "meeting during dead period" while Allen was unable? Just curious how murray didn't have the same problem. Not that I really believe that was the reason for either.
Oklahoma people said that their coaches had the choice between Allen and Murray and chose Murray all the way as a no-brainer. That speaks volumes about those two players and about the bad analysis of many, many A&M fans of those two players. Murray may be a bust as well, but it is almost a certainty that Allen already is.
Someone wrote on TexAgs about this right after Murray transferred to OU. Writer pointed out that OU can use Murray's presence to help recruit the Dallas area schools. Supposedly Murray has a number of friends/connections still playing high school ball. OU tells these kids to 'come play with Kyler'. As the writer pointed out, even if Kyler is a bust up there, if they can pull a couple of decent recruits due to him, it will be worth signing him to the squad.

You're a special kind of stupid. We had 25k at the Peach Bowl.

Yep. Dallas area is HUGE for them and used to be a stronghold for them. Kyler gives them his potential as a player (even though he may bust) but also the clout of having a super famous Dallas area recruit.

Two thoughts:

This entire episode reflects more poorly on A&M more than either player.

Kammarath still hasn't owned up to his clear and obvious hate for Kyle Allen.

Anyone that thinks signing Kyler will help OU recruit the metroplex doesn't know anything about recruiting.

UH now has more student housing than all but A&M. Houston's a big city. I'm sure he'll be fine. It's friendlier than Dallas.

If KA was still welcome at a top 5-10 program, that had a sub 6 ft guy have lots of success, he'll do fine at UH where a sub 6 ft guy is having success.

Haha.

KA isn't running the Hines ward offense.

I can't wait to see his quitter ass run the ball that on keepers and qb draws and scrambles.

Herman gonna be shocked at his lack of footspeed and elusiveness.

Good luck. Wonder if hermans had time to meet with him yet??

Herman knows how to adapt his offense to the skills his quarterbacks have.

Stoops picked KM to help recruiting in the Dallas/FW area I'm sure. KM did seem to be a better recruiter than QB.

Yes, 3 picks suck no matter how you slice, but only one of those should have been a pick-6. The offense quitting on the other two plays allowed the other two. But if makes you feel better keep going with that storyline.

Come on, man. There is a vast different between "hate" and not thinking someone is a good football player. Ridiculous. Since when is it off limits to think that Allen is not anything more than a mediocre QB?

Opinions are one thing, your choice of words and plethora of times you've expressed that make your thoughts pretty clear. You seem to have some kind of emotional loathing of KA.

Nope not true at all. Just a persistence to express that I think the overwhelming opinions on here regarding him are way off base. People act like "the starter of A&M just walked out" when in reality the hints seem to be that he wasn't being handed the starting position at all for the bowl game and so he decided to go elsewhere. Allen leaving wasn't really the surprise (Sumlin flat out said so...it also seems that Sumlin actually did not have faith in him as "the man" moving forward), the surprise was the publicly backed starter for the bowl game (Kyler Murray) walking out.

The reason I keep harping on this point is that it is essential to rightly understanding some of the politics and turmoil going on. And also understanding some of the Spav/Sumlin dynamic and why things were handled the way they were this season. And also why the offense sucked so bad this year (yes, Spav sucked but he also had not a single ready/good QB to actually work with....part of the lack of development of Allen could be put on Spav's shoulders though).

Telling that KA's choices were UH, CU, CSU and Syr and that he made his decision without visiting any of them. This is indicative of his skill set and his decision making.

Wow. You doth protest too much.

Murray the "publicly backed starter". Huh? Maybe in your own mind.

Think what you want. Your posting history is clear. Go back and read it. Whatever your problem with Kyle Allen is, let it go. Seems unhealthy.

Think you are confusing Kyle Allen with Kyler Murray. KA is over 6 ft. tall by at least a couple of inches.

Come on, man. Sumlin stated it in his public press conference that Kyler Murray was going to start the bowl game.

They should take the Telephone Road route.

My dad worked in the Houston ship yards during WWII and I remember him mentioning Telephone Road as a major thoroughfare. I'm guessing that South Main, which was the location of our motel while attending a Colt .45's game, isn't so good anymore either.

That quote was AFTER KA left, not before. The clear context was "now that KA is gone, will KM start the bowl game". At most there were rumors that the "QB competition" was reopened for the bowl game.

Right, that is my point.

Allen left while the QB position was still up for grabs and Sumlin told the public he was not surprised one bit that Allen left, just surprised that he pulled the trigger that quickly.

Murray then left AFTER being publicly backed as the starter. Much more surprising and much more of a black eye for the program.
cecil77

They are BOTH black eyes for the program. You persist in your pervasive efforts to denigrate Kyle Allen. That's certainly your right, it would just be interesting to know the emotional attachment you have to denigrating the young man.

You consider it to be "denigrating" to say he is only a mediocre college QB? Really? If that is my belief what on earth do you expect me to say? Serious question.
