Kyler needs a new start somewhere. It sounds like Oregon may be the place.

He will sit behind Dakota Prukop if he does. In fact, I'd swap Murray for Prukop in a heartbeat.

Saw this thread yesterday, I was there when Kevin Murray was conducting his court sitting n the front steps of the dorm at any given time of day. After a semester in a dorm, I moved off campus, drove the car to the fish lot, got the bicycle out of the back of the old Dodge Colt wagon, rode into campus for the day.

Almost every day, Kevin was sitting out front. At times, I wondered if that guy ever went to class. Other football guys hung around, occasional girls sitting there. One day, as I rode by, Murray hollered at me, " what are you looking at ? ".

I just grinned to myself and rode on.

I'll never forgive that guy for the 1985 loss to Baylor. We also lost to Alabama, went 10-2, SWC Champs.

Baylor won the game, 20-15 in Waco, we shouldn't have ever been in a situation to lose that game. Baylor converted a 3rd and 23 to seal the win. The Grant Teaff led Bears played lights out,...but we should never have lost to Baylor. They lost to Georgia, Arkansas and t.u. that year, beat a then ranked #5 USC team. They finished #2 in SWC, won the Liberty Bowl vs. LSU.

Yeah, A&M went on to beat a Bo Jackson led Auburn team in the '86 Cotton Bowl. The next year, as SWC Champs, Kevin Murray threw 5 Int's against Ohio State in the '87 Cotton Bowl.

Bucky came along in the '88 Cotton Bowl vs. Notre Dame, good guys 35-10.

We never should have lost to Baylor

Hey Kev,

I appreciate what you did here. Thanks for allowing your boy to come. Sorry it didn't work out.

I loved watching Kevin Mureay play and I appreciated his competitive fire...That said, I am ready for he and his son to move on...they are not good for this program. The crap they pulled last year and this childish crap they are pulling now is ridiculous. Kevin Murray has been calling programs across the country ever since Kyler got beat out at the beginning of the season.

You have proof? I can't imagine he could pull this off without Sumlin knowing. And I can't see Sumlin hearing this and saying, yeah I should play that Kyler kid more. And if he did, well then we need a new coach.
Yes I do but if you think I'm sharing my sources with you, well, you've lost your damn mind. All you need to know is that a school that is absolutely desperate for a QB stopped taking Kevin Murray's phone calls just before Thanksgiving. That's right, even ole Charlie Strong doesn't want to have to deal with that sh*t show.

I don't think Kyler will have near the amount of options he had coming out of high school. Oh he will probably find a nice landing spot somewhere but it won't be his first, second or probably even third choice. He and his dad are toxic for any program and any coach who does their research will certainly proceed with caution if they choose to proceed at all.

Baseball is his best option now, I think.

well, according to somewhere on this Zoo mess, Kyler was hanging with The t.u. Great Malik of Nazareth over the weekend in CS.

He might as well play baseball, he sure as hell is not going to play college football for anyone near important this next year. Perhaps, he can enroll into Tyler JC if he really wants to play QB.

Happy trails, and say hi to your dad.

There has to be a reason we keep getting these 5star number 1 in the nation qb recruits. Obviously it's not Spavs offensive prowess. I get Kyler, legacy and all, but KA and Tate. Makes no sense.
KA committed in the afterglow of JFF. Tate committed before the **** show became evident.

If Sumlin didn't want the offense that is being run, he'd change it. Blaming it on the OC is a cop out. The buck stops with the guy making $5,000,000 per year.

I guess I'm the only one, but I want to see Kyler stay and reach the potential that he has.

I am with you bro. I think, if he tries hard enough, one day he can be an assistant on the Love Boat.

To OP's point:

If KDS wins ballgames, nobody cares where Kyler signs. You dont make deals with helicopter dads (or moms, uncles, or any other adult who tries to control the athlete). It rarely works out.

KDS should have gone public with the negotiations. People would have backed off. And had we beaten Auburn and maybe scored another touchdown against L$U and Ole Miss, KDS would not be on the hot seat.

Bottom line, KDS got played like a fool. I hope he recovers. Otherwise, he needs to be gone afer next year.
