Can we consolidate all the rumors? And I wouldn't doubt this at all.

To me it's just as likely that they realized Murray can't play at his current level. Based on what I've seen, it's obvious he's only not red shirting just because he didn't want to.

We put 100k+ in our stadium every game and pay the coach $5MM to win football games. I have a feeling whatever Kyler did was almost merited, and understand completely why Trey Williams left. We have made it clear we're willing to do what it takes to win by throwing out the cash for Chavis, it's time to move on from Spav.

Kyle was lost tonight and may never recover! Why was Kyler not the game? What the heck is happening? Sumlin must take control of the offense because Jake cannot handle the challenge!

this is the Catch-22.

Kyler should have redshirted plain and simple. But promises had to be made to get him to campus. One of the hazards of the recruiting process

This is what I don't understand. How do you have a dad that does what Kevin Murray does professionally and have to be promised playing time as a true fish...in the SEC??? He isn't ready.
sounds like daddy wanted sunshine pumped his way like everyone else.

if you think it's bad now, wait till Manziel's funbabies start becoming recruitable.

Those of y'all defending this (if true) are a part of the problem with young kids disregard for authority.

Agree completely. No accountability will lead to bigger problems down the road.

The schedule softens up to get things fixed -- winning changes everything.

Personally, I'm not defending his actions in particular, but it is indicative of how dire our situation is on the offensive side of the ball.

If that's the case then Kyler should've never seen the field. I don't give a damn who or what Kevin Murry did. A parent had no business confronting a coach.

And before you know it all Nancies fire away at me, my son is a D1 athlete and even if I disagreed with his coach, it's time for him to grow up and learn to handle his own battles. He definitely doesn't need a meddlesome daddy!

This...

You think he would "win back the locker room" by rewarding an unproven (at the college level) kid with playing time after spouting off? He would have lost the ones who are playing hard... for good.

Kyler hasn't done anything at this level to warrant speaking up a word... Shut up and do what you're told

You aren't old enough to sound as old as you're attempting.

And these aren't "young kids," they are paid professionals.

This has been a recurring pattern with Kyler from what I hear from folks who knew him from Allen High. Very coddled. Very entitled attitude. Always got his way. Never held accountable. If true, perhaps he needs to learn that big time D1 football is not like Texas high school football. Players play, and coaches coach. Likely a valuable lesson to learn if he has professional ambitions.

Good lord. Don't know if this is true. Don't know the Murray family from Adam.

But as a general statement TO ALL ATHLETES' PARENTS: Johnny ****ing Football is example #1 why you don't raise gifted athletic kids this way.

Let's hope your kid's girlfriend stays in the car and doesn't cause an NFL investigation. Jesus.

Not sure if Manziel and I were watching the same game.... "crazy game" more like we got blown away with many available chances.

How many Sumlin players have we said this about?

When is Sumlin ever accountable?

JFF freaking shoved a coach when he was here...never say a game for it. If this is true, Spav should be fired on the spot for being a *****.

Perhaps not "young" but some are immature kids. And, possibly, some have immature parents. Time will tell.

100% on board with that. He's too small to have s career on the NFL. Got tackled once against ASU and got hurt.

At present, KA is definitely not the answer either. Especially in the Spav offense and the Spav play calling. Can we get KK back or Mike Leach away from Wash. St. ?

Spavital is THE problem. He needs to go now! He is not worth the trouble he is causing. It's two years in a row now that this crap has come up. And I don't blame kyler. Spavital has screwed him around.

Jake looks like he has a live arm and is a pretty big guy. From what we have seen KS does not like a QBs first start to be one where defense hammers him.

If that's the case, get Jake ready. This should be his week.

The problems on offense in 2014-15 seem to boil down to leadership...in addition to the OL weakening.

Look at the defense. It is apparent that Chavis leads the defense. He doesn't just draw Xs and Os on a board, then tells players to just 'do this'. The defense has improved week to week and it shows. Chavis just needs more depth (especially at LB).

It's the opposite on offense. It is obvious that Spav is not a leader. He draws Xs and Os on a post card and tells players to 'just do it'. Plus, there are no team leaders on our offense. Our starting QB is a sophomore and the two backups are new to the team. Our star receiver is a freshman. OL are just out there trying to maintain their blocks. When Sumlin came here and Manziel was the QB, the offense had a number of JR and SR players who were team leaders. We need an OC who is a strong leader and teacher.

Sumlin can fix this just like he 'fixed' the defense after last season. But, Spav has to be pulled ASAP as the OC or (1) A&M is going to lose recruits and (2) players other than Kyler may leave for greener pastures.
