I'm more afraid of a power outage. Had a lightning storm come through about 5:00 AM and lost power for awhile. No modem.

Wow... T&P for any one in Houston dumb enough to have satellite TV. Direct TV in a rainy climate like Houston is the definition of retard. Pony up the extra bucks and get freakin' cable. Or re-lo to New Mexico and take your sucky Direct TV.

Quite unfortunate. I get power outages but cell towers around here always work. I've watched a couple of games on my laptop via cell data. Works really well.

I have had satellite for years including dish and directv. The only time it ever goes out is during a severe storm. And even then, it's usually only a few minutes. Standard rain showers do not affect it. Way way better than freaking cable.

I'm in college station and I lost signal. Press channel up twice, then channel down twice. Miraculously, you'll obtain signal again. I don't know why, but that worked.
