Anyone send their ring to Balfour to have it resized? If so, how long did it take to get it back?

Aggie football related because I like to wear my ring to the games and players have their rings. Better subject than t.u. obsession all over this sub-forum IMHO.

Interested as well. Jammed my finger a month ago and haven't been able to weary ring on my right hand since

I had mine resized 16 years ago & if I recall correctly it took 4-6 weeks, but like I said, that was many years ago. I had done a pretty nice job wearing the...ahem indentations...off of the bottom of my ring. When I got it back they had put the crown of the ring on a larger ring and viola re-sized ring with brand new indentations. Also, newly sized ring was natural finish and not the original antique. I haven't wanted to be without it for that long since then, hence the reason I'll most likely never get it refinished.

Did you ask them to change the finish?

It takes them ~3 weeks

I sent mine in today and asked them not to clean it, polish it, remove any nicks or dents. I like the worn look of a ring that is 18 yrs old and want to keep the original antique finish. Just hope it doesn't take 6 weeks to come home.

lol....

Not hardly. Mine is from years of weight training. I guess even your fingers and knuckles get bigger. Unless you consider 6', 208 lbs and a 33" waist fat....

I resized mine 18 years ago, and got back an entirely different ring. Different top and bottom. Really ticked me off, and it never felt like my ring. I'd rather have had a total amateur crudely do it.

No, I did not. I assumed it would be returned as submitted with the exception of size. Dumbarse move on my part. I got used to it long ago but just added it so OP would know to be as specific as possible when submitting back to Balfour.

3-4 weeks. They ship it back for free. Beware if you call for anything though. We are a special account, and not everyone will be able to handle any questions you have. I called to confirm they got my ring and resizing instructions, and I went through 2 automated menus and 4 customer service reps before finally getting transferred to someone authorized to even look up an A&M College Station account.

Yeah, this thread confirmed my fears. I'll see how much it costs to resize a finger instead.

Original: downsized by Balfour, came back with an entirely new ring. That was 1989.

Replacement: after original stolen, got another one in 2004. After ten years, resized upwards owing to married life. Went to a trusted family jeweler. The bottom of the band was where the new metal was added. No other changes to ring (aside from adding a stone).

I took mine up to the Ring Office in Cstat and had them handle it. Got it back in a Month. Asked them to add new antique and clean it up. This was two years ago, a year after I received it. I ordered it too small and sucked it up, but decided to resize and plenty happy with it now. The Ring office makes it easy.

I just calculated your BMI at 28.2%, which is considered overweight. Once you hit 30% you will be obese.

If you are in Austin, have Lane Wells(jewelers) resize and clean it. I have know him for many years and he does great work. Have had mine resized twice. Very reasonable price with just a few days turnaround.

Trying too hard to fat shame him bro. Best give it up.

If you resize I think a size or less, the ring doesn't have to be recast, otherwise it will be recast which takes longer. Of course, recasting the ring is more expensive and you have a new ring.

Myles Garrett is listed as 6'-5" (77") & 262 lbs. By my calculations 262 / 77^2 * 703 = 31.1. Do you want to tell him or should I?

Ok - kind of similar question. I lost both my Aggie Ring and wedding ring about a month ago. Wife was pissed when she realized I was much more concerned about replacing Aggie ring!! A few questions - What do they cost nowadays? How long will it take to receive? Are they only able to be ordered in College Station?

Pretty sure you can order online. Price depends on type of ring and options. Standard 10K gold men's ring is around $960.00. Just google Texas A&M Aggie ring and follow link. Lots of info on there.

Had mine resized - downsized, thank you very much - a year or two ago. Just took 2-3 weeks, and yes, it was really trading in my ring for a new, smaller one rather than resizing it. Didn't care - felt the same and looked the same other than missing some nicks from beer bottles.
