i think we have a shot of winning at Nebraska, just not a very good one...If we play like we did today, yes i know it was Baylor, we will have a shot...We played with emotion and a purpose today, and hopefully we will have that fire in Lincoln...i just dont know how our D-line will hold up, and the inexpierence of our young linebackers against power running teams and the option worries me also...i think we will score some points, as long as we dont kill ourselves...as for an early prediction

NU 34
A&M 24

Not to sound too optimistic, but I really think we will pull this one out. Call it timing, call it destiny, but I think this has something to do with Coach Fran coming to this school. The offense is clicking; the defense is showing signs of waking up. Give me one good reason why the team that just lost to Mizzou will beat the Ags.

I rather not predict the score but I think that our ability/inability to stop the run will be the key. Offense and Defense needs to play as a team and help each other out.

As long as we stay even in the turnover battle, our offense should be able to hang enough points on them for the win. NU's passing game sucks so we should be able to concentrate on stopping the run. I'll pick the good guys 35 - 28.

if we can jump on them early(biggest key of the game) we will have a chance. If we are tied at halftime, we will lose by 21. If we dont make them throw the ball they will wear down our dline/linebackers and control the clock with their running game. We need to force turnovers and we need to run the ball on offense to keep our defense off the field.

My prediction-

Halftime: (scenario 1)
21-10 Ags

Final:
35-31 Ags

Halftime: (scenario 2)
21-17 Nebraska

Final:
49-31 Nebraska

And yes, i truly believe the halftime score is THAT important this game. Us being ahead (possibly going ahead by 2+ tds in the 3rd) could push them away from their offense and force them to throw the ball more than they like. this will lead to more turnovers and an overall less effective offense for nebraska

i agree that if we put up at least a 2 td lead they will have to go away from their strengths, but I dont see them being able to blow us outm just because our offense is that good

i hate to say it but losing to missouri will have them p*ssed. i think we will have a rough nite especially with it being a home game for them. i hope i am wrong. i do hope however to see continual improvement on both sides of the ball for the ags. that's all i'm asking out of this year's team.

I would be more optimistic if they had not lost to Mizzou. The Nebraska coaches will have no problem getting their player's attention in practice this week after their first loss of the season.

Ags have shown no signs of being able to stop a formidable ground game this year. I hope that changes this week, every fiber of my being is looking for signs that our defense is turning the corner but I don't have any compelling evidence yet. I can't really give them too much credit based on holding BU to ten points because I don't think Baylor has much of an offense. A good showing at Nebraska (under 250 yds rushing) would be a nice start.

the key is our defense staying disciplined and making the first tackle.

we need to force nebraska into 2nd and 3rd and long. if they can get 4 yards or more on first down, we are doomed.

I think we'll need at least 30 points to win this one as well.

I do not care what we did to Baylor. We still cannot stop good or mediocre running teams. We will not be able to stop NU from controlling the game. I hope I am wrong, but we could very well be staring another 20+/30+ loss in the face. They just lost to Mizzou, so I have a feeling they'll be wanting to prove some thing in a bad way against the Ags. Let's stay grounded here, we just beat the crap out of a terrible Baylor team. I hope that I am wrong, but I have a hard time being positive after what this team did the weekends prior to the Baylor game.

I agree with NyAggie, we must tackle well in this game and attack, attack, attack the option. We need to belt Lord in the mouth a lot in this game. Last year, we played much too passive a scheme against the option and waited for the play to come to us. Mizzou last night was attacking NU at the LOS and was forcing the issue with Lord as well as getting good penetration on the option plays.

Although we've not done that good against the run this year, its been against mainly against the shotgun draw/trap/counter plays that have killed us. I'll be interested to see how this D plays against the option, although NU isn't totally an option team, I think its going to be their standard I sets, rather than the option that do damage.

The O needs to step up big in this game. NU had all kinds of problems with Brad Smith so I think Reggie will be a huge factor running the ball in this game. Also, I think our skill people are deeper and more talented than Mizzou's were last night. We need to score TDs early and often.

I think we can win. I know our schedule will be tough but our team is improving each week.

It's on their home field and we have had trouble stopping the run.

I wish A&M all the luck in next week's game, but it is kind of funny to read your posts.

Before last week's win over Colorado, all of the Baylor posts were not too positive, just hoping to finish the season without too many injuries. Then after the win over Colorado, everyone became optimistic. Maybe we can win a few more games and become bowl eligible; why not? A&M just got creamed by Tech. Obviously these hopes were unrealistic. Baylor isn't that good of a team yet.

Now I look at the A&M posts and I see the same thing. Also, it was pretty obvious by the poor attendance at the A&M game that people were doubting A&M's chances this year. (Side note here: don't you guys brag about selling out ever single game? Isn't your motto "Come early and leave late?" Everyone always makes fun of the poor attendance at Baylor's Floyd Casey Stadium, it is kind of funny to see even when a team like A&M has three losses they have low attendance also. I don't mean to be rude, just an observation; it is no worse than what you guys do every single time you come up to Waco.)Now that you have creamed Baylor, a lot of people's posts are very optimistic. I think these posts have a right to be optimistic. A&M is a good team, and so far this year they have been playing under their ability. But lets get realistic here, you are about to go into Nebraska's home, after they just had an embarassing lost. It isn't going to be pretty. You aren't playing Baylor this week. Just something to think about.

And if you guys are down by 35 points in the 3rd quarter, and showing no chance of coming back, I'm sure Nebraska will take out their starters. They have enough class not to run up the score *cough* But if beating Baylor by 63 points gets you guys pumped up, then go ahead. But just remember bad teams can become good, and we never forget. There was a time when A&M could beat UT, but that time has passed.

sorry that our walk ons and 3rd stringers ran up the score on you...if that's what the *cough* was for...at 59-10 our starters were out of the game, and that came in the 3rd quarter....a 3rd string running back took 10 carries for almost 60 yards on you guys...so if that's running up the score...I guess we just should have punted on 1st down...then that would be really showing you guys up

Ahhh...where to start. The final TD was a 40 yard option from our walk on 3rd team QB to our 4th team RB. The starters left the game after the 91 yard pass early in the 3rd. We could have hung 80 if we were running up the score, you couldn't have stopped it. This reminded me of John Jenkins and he Run and Shoot, he would have hung 100 on you yesterday. Your silly assed comment about us beating Texas reminds me of one of your baseball bat girls some years ago. We were heckling her every time she emerged, so finally she got fed up and, the next time she went to get the bat, she looked up at us and flashed the hook 'em horns sign. Nice.

Actually, if you would have read any of the posts on this board about attendance, you would have read that we have NEVER consistently sold out any games.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Two things come to mind if we are to beat them:

1) Stop the run (duh). I don't see them passing on us and winning.

2) Get up early and take the crowd out asap.

Know these are simplistic, but have to be done.

You have us confused with sips. We don't need a motto telling us to come early and stay late. Our all walk-on kickoff team was kicking Baylor around. As far as this week I am optimistic, but cautiously optimistic. It was obvious that our young team was taking their aggression out this week, but it was also obvious that they were starting to "get it." I hope they can carry this momentum into Lincoln and get the win. Nothing surprises me with college football anymore. Northern Illinois versus TCU in the Sugar Bowl should be entertaining.

I'm sorry, but I don't think a p!$$ed-off Nebraska team in 2003 is quite as dangerous as a p!$$ed-off Nebraska team was in the mid 90s. We don't exactly have the "playing not to lose" mentality anymore, so anything can happen.

Plus, I think that A&M is starting to accept the fact that the offense is going to have to step up and carry us this year, much like OU's offense carried them for Stoops's first 1 1/2 years. We are a lot like Mizzou on both sides of the ball, and that could be a plus against NU.

I'm not saying we will win, but I like our chances.

I'm sure you had your eyes closed the entire game but if you had them open, you would have seen that our starters were pulled in the third quarter and we had a third string walk-on quarterback playing the majority of the fourth. Your coach had no problem with the personnel used and the plays called...why the hell do you?

"The thought of your fairy ass typing that little post had me in tears. Keep up the good work."

Typical Aggie response. If you can't think of something clever to say just call them a ***, or a fairy.

And look guys, I didn't mean to piss you off, for the most part I think you guys are good. The Aggie fans that were around me at the football game were really nice. There were a few asses, but you can expect that at an away game. The fans didn't really rub it in that we were getting the **** kicked out of us. I just felt that the football team was taking their embarassing loss out on Baylor. And I think your team should try to establish some momentum, but there needs to be a point where you change your play calling, and I just didn't see that point. Just an observation. Good luck against Nebraska next week, it is going to be a tough game.

first of all the Nebraska defense is still not very good. They built up great stats vs. a tomato can schedule.

secondly, the aggie secondary matches up well with the NEB WR's - just like they did vs. the baylor WR's. So the Ags can pass/run blitz a lot more and play 7-8 in the box.

I guess they teach you that 73,030 is "Poor attendance" up at Baylor. Yep, it wasn't 86,000 like when we play a decent team. When you guys get competitive again (and I really hope you do because I have a lot of friends who graduated from Baylor), then maybe the attendance won't be quite so "Poor".
